On March 10, 1968, or on May 14, 1968, or in the first months of 1968, towards the fall of the day in Otoco, Posoti, Bolivia, Valentina Flores was going back to her farm to shelter her herd of sheep and llamas, when at her great surprise and indignation, she saw that in her farmyard, where she had several females sheep with their offspring, there was someone covered by a sort of plastic-looking net, attacking her sheep.
Valentina Flores shouted and uttered insults towards what she believed to be an ordinary robber of short stature, as it seemed to be only 1.20 meters tall only.
But eventually she realized that it was a strange humanoid, wearing a one piece suit, of obscure color, and carrying a smoked helmet which prevented from seeing his face.
The being appeared to be killing her sheep by ripping their internal organs with a long tube or a rod ending in a point, or a hook according to some other versions.
The humanoid fought back by facing her, throwing at her the instrument with which he had mutilated the sheep, and managed to wound her on several occasions, although not seriously, and to the greatest surprise of the woman, this object each time returned in the hands of the humanoid as if it were a boomerang.
Valentina Flores threw stones at him, some of which hit the humanoid without inflicting any apparent damages to him.
The being then retreated towards a bizarre box-like device supported by four legs, which he started to handle, consequently of what the "net" which covered the farmyard was quickly absorbed into this apparatus.
Immediately afterwards, the small being folded his "device", picked up a sort of bag containing of the internal organs of the sacrificed animals, and started to fly up with a weird noise in front of the helpless and amazed Mrs Flores.
No less than 34 sheep had been killed.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Otoco, Potosi, Bolivia, on early 1968, at 06:00 p.m., Valentina Flores was bringing in her llamas when she discovered that her sheep pen was covered with a net made of some plastic like material, and that inside the pen was a helmeted being, 3.5 ft tall, who was engaged in the killing of her sheep by a tubular instrument having a hook on the end of it. Mrs Flores threw stones at the being, whereupon he walked over to an instrument resembling a radio and, moving a wheel on it, quickly absorbed all the netting. The farm woman approached the pen with a cudgel, upon which the being threw his instrument at her several times; it returned to him like a boomerang, after inflicting superficial cuts on her arms. The entity picked up the machine, which had absorbed the net, as well as a bag containing sheep entrails, and put them into a rucksack on his back. Two legs emerged from the rucksack and extended down to the ground, at which time the entity rose straight up into the air with an "extraordinary" sound, and vanished. 34 sheep were found dead and from every one, "certain small portions of the digestive organs were missing."
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Col. R. Ayala and son, and Oscar A. Galindez.
He comments that Very important and intriguing case actually describing some sort of humanoid performing mutilations on animals, and that this incident occurred well before the start of the Chupacabra craze and before the 1972-1980 worldwide animal mutilations.

An article on the matter of the animal mutilations indicates that in Otoco in Bolivia, in the first months of 1968, country-woman Valentina Flores was said to have seen in her sheep pen a humanoid of one meter twenty in height cutting down the animals with a kind of hook inserted in a tube, extracting the internal organs. Attacked by the woman, who had taken him for a cattle robber, the alien is said to have reacted by wounding Flores with the hook, and by rising in the air with a strange box carried on the shoulders.

For example, the event in Otoco, Bolivia, seems to us to be an urban legend, in which in the first months of 1968, country-woman Valentina Flores was said to have seen in her sheep pen a humanoid of one meter twenty in height cutting down the animals with a kind of hook inserted in a tube, extracting the internal organs. Attacked by the woman, who had taken him for a cattle robber, the alien is said to have reacted by wounding Flores with the hook, and by rising in the air with a strange box carried on the shoulders. |

[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:
Donald Johnson indicates that on May 14, 1968, at six o'clock in the evening the witness, Mrs. Valentina Flores, heard noises coming from her sheep pen located between the towns of Uyini and Otoco, Bolivia and went to investigate. She found the sheep pen covered with some form of plastic net, and inside was a short being 3.5 feet tall, who was killing the sheep with a tube with a hook on the end. The witness threw stones at the creature, and she was injured when she was thrown to the ground. The tube like instrument absorbed the net, and the entity rose straight up into the air with a strange noise. Thirty four of the sheep had been killed.

Oscar A. Galindez, was a well-known Argentinean ufologist and the Flying Saucer Review's special correspondent in Argentina.
Albert Rosales is right in his comment that this very high-strangeness case predates the publicity around the animal mutilations in relation with UFOs and the Chupacabra lore.
There is no certainty about the authenticity of the event; it has only one witness, and I could not find if any field investigation was conducted or not. However, the story sounds markedly different from the typical tall tales of meeting with UFO occupants of the hoaxers of the time.
