On August 23, 1967, early in the morning or at 04:00 a.m., Stanley Moxon, aged 20, was driving towards Montreal and saw a green light in a field on his right, between Joyceville, Ontario, and Glen Grove Road, 40 miles in the south-west of Smiths Falls.
He turned off the car's headlights and went into a smaller road to approach. A few minutes later, when he turned the headlights back on, they reflected on an enormous lens-shaped craft of greenish color.
There two characters approximately 1.10 meter tall, bulky, equipped in suits or uniform of white color, and helmeted, who seemed busy with some work. They seemed surprised by the car's headlights and "seemed to fly back in the craft" or jumped in the craft, which immediately took off at an enormous speed, without making any noise, and it disappeared in the night sky.
Moxon is said to have reported his encounter to the police, ensuring that he "had not just been seeing things," and was not under the influence of tiredness. The case seems to have been reported in newspapers as soon as the next day.
The next day, the police is said to have told the press that they found no particular trace on the ground where the flying saucer was supposed to have been posed.

[Ref. lo1:] CORAL AND JIM LORENZEN:
The authors indicate that on August 23, 1967, in the early morning, Stanley Moxon was on his way to Montreal and saw a green light in a field to his right, between Joyceville, Ontario, and the Glen Grove Road forty miles southwest of Smiths Falls.
He turned off his lights and drove down a side road. A few minutes later, when he turned his lights on, they reflected on a huge saucer-like craft.
There, were two people about four feet tall, dressed in white suits and helmets. They seemed to be startled by the car's headlights and "appeared to fly back into the craft."
The craft immediately took off at tremendous speed, without making any noise, and disappeared into the night sky.
Moxon reported his experience to the police, adamant that he had not been merely "seeing things," and had not been tired. The next day, a check of the spot was made, and a police officer told the press that there did not seem to be any special markings on the ground where the flying saucer was supposed to have rested.
[Ref. jv1:] JACQUES VALLEE:
In his catalog of UFO landings, Jacques Vallée indicates that early on August 23, 1967 in Joyceville, Canada, Stanley Moxon, of Toronto, driving to Montreal, was between Joyceville and the Glen Grove Road, when he encountered a large, disk-shaped craft and two creatures, 1.20 m tall, dressed in white suits and helmets. They "flew back" into the object at once and it left silently at high speed. Vallée indicates "Lor. III 32" as source.
[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates that according to the local police and the APRO, on August 23, 1967 at 04:00 a.m., near Joyceville, Ontario, Canada, Stanley Moxon was driving from his home in Toronto when he saw a green light in a field off the road ahead of his car.
He turned off his headlights and swung onto a side road to get closer. Turning his lights on again, he saw a huge craft shaped like two saucers put together, and two human like entities about 4-feet high in white uniforms and helmets.
They "seemed to be at work around the machine;" when they were discovered, they quickly jumped into the object, which took off silently at tremendous speed.
[Ref. jb1:] JEROME BEAU:

At one moment they flew back in the object, which left silently at high speed. The source is indicated as "Lor. III 32 < Vallée 1969".
[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:
Donald Johnson, from the UFOCAT database, indicates that on August 23, 1967, in Joyceville, Ontario, while driving from his home in Toronto at four o'clock in the morning Stanley Moxon, age 20, saw a green light in a field ahead of him, not far from the road.
He turned off his headlights and swung onto a side road to get closer. Turning his lights on again, he saw a huge greenish colored lens-shaped craft, and two somewhat bulky human-like entities about four feet tall, wearing white uniforms and helmets.
They "seemed to be at work around the machine." When they were discovered, they quickly jumped into the craft, which took off silently at a tremendous speed.
Several sources are usefully indicated: the Toronto Telegram, for August 23, 1967, the Kingston Whig Standard for August 24, 1967, the APRO Bulletin for September-October 1967, p. 14 the David F. Webb & Ted Bloecher HUMCAT Catalogue of Humanoid Reports, case 1967-81, citing APRO and police reports; Richard H. Hall, The UFO Evidence, Volume II: A Thirty-Year Report, pp. 264, 473.
The newspaper articles of the next day might have provided further details and better information than the short summaries that survived in the ufology literature. Police reports would be useful pieces of information too. With the absence of those and the fact that the sighting has only one witness whose credibility and story does not seem to have been investigated, the case certainly cannot be taken at face value.
