Among the entirely anecdotal and undocumented cases put forth by author Kenneth Ring, is a case that he said occurred somewhere he does not tell, at an ungiven date in 1965, late at night.
The "witness" was then 5 year old, and reportedly slept with her brothers when she was "suddenly awakened for some unknown reason" and saw seven strange-looking 4-feet-tall figures at the foot of her bed. They had large round black eyes, grayish white skin, and a large head with a very thin body and long arms, fingers, and toes.
A "bright light shone from the sky", which seemed to draw the witness and the aliens into it, and next thing she recalled was being on a table in a sterile room, again surrounded by the beings who began to examine and probe her body and private parts with long thin metal instruments. "Next thing she knew was lying back on her bed."

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that at a place not given, in 1965, late at night, the five-year old witness was sleeping with her brothers when she was suddenly awakened for some unknown reason. She then saw seven strange looking figures at the foot of her bed. The figures were four-foot tall, with large round black eyes, grayish white skin, and a large head with a very thin body and long arms, fingers, and toes. A bright light shone from the sky, which seemed to draw the witness and the aliens into it. Next thing she recalled was being on a table in a sterile room, again surrounded by the beings. The beings began to examine and probe her body with long thin metal instruments; some were inserted vaginally and rectally. Next thing she knew was lying back on her bed.
Albert Rosales indicates as source "Kenneth Ring PhD, The Omega Project."
Introduced as an expert in "Near Death Experiments" (NDE), "New Age" writer and "Gaia" proponent, professor of psychology at the University of Connecticut, Kenneth Ring seems not to have provided basic information such as the place, the date, nor when and how it was reported, not to mention an investigation report.
A "witness" aged 5 would call for the highest caution, but what generally occurs in such cases is that a person, once grown up, reads literature about the "alien abductions", vaguely remembers some vague but disturbing childhood memory, without being told that it might have been only a common episode of hypnagogic hallucination. The person would then "consult with experts", who submit her to "sessions of hypnotic regression" and "abductees support group meetings" until obtaining what they believe to be a confirmation that the person lived a "paranormal experience" or was really abducted by aliens. Sessions after sessions, this false interpretation is reinforced, hypnosis recovering true lost memories of fictitious things such as stories read in books, heard from others "abductees", seen in movies, and the experts thus accumulate cases that resemble each other more or less. Prudence is abandoned, and the banal hypnagogic hallucination in childhood can turn into a "whole life of alien abductions".
Serious ufologists long understood this mechanism; but many "New Age" authors and some ufologists still do not want to listen.
