Bigfoot hunter Blake Mathys reported in 1988 that he interviewed a couple who saw a Bigfoot in the mid-1960's, probably in 1965. They were not quite sure about the date.
The couple was driving with their son who was 4 or 5 at the time on the west side of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and came to a railroad crossing. The crossing was rough, so they slowed down, and when they did, the wife looked to the right, down the tracks, and saw a large creature walking towards them on the railroad tracks. She said, "Look at that!", her husband then looked over and stopped the car. They watched it for a while, and the husband said, "That thing could crush this car", or something to that effect. Being concerned with their safety and especially their son's safety, they left the area. The husband estimated the creature's height at 6 et 6.5 feet; both agreed that it had very long arms. The wife thought that the color was a bit darker than an orangutan.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio, on Summer 1965, in the evening, the witnesses were driving with their son on the west side of town and as they approached a railroad crossing, they had to slow down; suddenly the wife looked to the right, down the tracks and saw a huge creature walking. She alerted the others who then watched it for a while. Being concerned with the safety of themselves and their son they left the area. The husband estimated the height of the creature to had been 6-6.5 feet; it had very long arms, and was very dark in color.
Albert Rosales indicates as source "Ron Schaffner".
Ron Schaffner, of the former Ohio UFO Investigators League (OUFOIL), is more known as a "cryptozoologist", collecting sighting reports of strange creatures mainly in Ohio where he lives. He became interested in cryptozoology after reading John Keel's paperback book "Strange Creatures from Time and Space" in 1975. He is the editor of the cryptozoology newsletter "Creature Chronicles". His website as of 2008 is under reconstruction at home.cinci.rr.com/kd8afh. Though cited as source, the primary source is actually Blake Mathys, another Ohio field investigator specialized in Bigfoot, who interviewd the witnesses.
This particular case has obviously nothing to do with UFO occupants.
The distance of observation is not reported, and it is not known whether it occurred by night or day.
