CIRCA 1965, COAL AND CANDLE CREEK, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, A BOY AND HIS UNCLE:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The AUFORN archive page for 1965 indicates that in 1992, it was reported that circa 1965, in Coal and Candle Creek, New South Wales, a close encounter of he 1st kind (CE1) occurred, case number 1992-0035, recorded by UFO Research New South Wales (UFORNSW).

Mr H., then a boy aged 11 or 12, was fishing with his uncle in a boat on a tributary of the Hawkesbury River, at night, when they heard a humming noise. They then saw a glowing, yellow/gold, saucer shaped craft appear from over some hills to the north. The craft descended and began to follow the water course till it was directly over them. The witnesses reported seeing port holes and a large "windscreen" or observing viewscreen, and had the feeling they were being observed. The object remained stationary for about 30-40 second then disappearing at great speed to the north-west.

The story was later included by an American ufologist in his catalogue of close encounters of the third kind.

Points to consider:

Is there any sens to include this story in a catalogue of "encounters with humanoids" whereas no humanoid was seen? The story only mentions a eeling of being observed.

From the description of the saucer, it appears that it could have been an invented story in conformity with the inventions of the American contactee Adamski. A sketch of the alleged saucer would have made it possible to check that.
