Paul Villa, aka Apolinar Alberto Villa Junior, claimed to be in contact with space men and space women since 1953 and he produced from 1963 on several series of photographs of alleged flying saucers to prove his claims. The pictures were studied by US Air Force Project Bluebook, by Ground Saucer Watch and others and revealed to they were faked using small models hanging on strings.
However, his pictures and alleged experiences are still occasionally published as if they were real events.
Such is the case of an alleged contact near Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Easter day, April 18, 1965, at 4 p.m., in which Paul Villa claimed to have been called telepathically by the aliens to a place near Bernalillo, where he said he saw a 150 feet or 300 feet diameter saucer land on a telescopic tripod, set fire to a bush with a beam, turn off the fire with another beam, and create a "mini-tornado", to show Villa that space people can also control the weather.
Villa claimed that after the saucer landed, he talked for nearly two hours of personal and general matters with the UFO occupants, who, he claims, are human-looking like us only more handsome. The space men told him that the Pegasus satellite astronauts McDivitt and white saw in space and thought to be a UFO was really a UFO, and that he should quit smoking because smoking is not good for one's telepathic powers. The space people, who come from "the constellation of Coma Berenice" according to Villa, also said the US government will not release the Mariner 4 Mars probe photographs because they show pumping stations for the canal systems on Mars.

[Ref. gg1:] GABRIEL GREEN:
Green says that for a second set of pictures, Villa was telepathically guided to another area near Bernalillo, New Mexico, about 15 miles north of Albuquerque, on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1965. The ship seen in his photos 1,2 and 3 projected a ray which caused a small brush fire. The smoke from the fire is visible, more clearly in color, in the trees just below the craft, and just above and to the left of the tailgate of Villa's truck. In one photo they singed a tree top by use of a ray directed from the ship to demonstrate some of their capabilities.
The ship landed and Villa judged it to be 300 feet in diameter. It had telescopic, tripod landing gear, which are protruding from the bottom of the craft in some of the photos.
The three crewman had light brown hair and tan skin, appeared to be about 5'8" or 5'9" tall and Villa talked with them for nearly two hours about personal as well as general matters. They told him that our Astronauts, Edward White and James McDivitt, on their now-famous GT-4 flight, were really seeing a spaceship when they reported sighting the Pegasus-like object. They also said our Government won't release the Mariner-4 photo's because they show pumping stations for the canal systems on Mars. They added, that by 1966, 17 nations will have the Atomic Bomb. Villa says they conversed both in Spanish, his native language, and in English. On their advice, the Contactee says, he stopped smoking so as to enhance his ability to receive telepathic communications.
[Ref. tg1:] TIMOTHY GOOD:
The author discusses the contacts claim by Apolinar "Paul" Villa, 1916-1981, and indicates that a third claimed contact with a series of photographs occurred on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1965, at about 4 p.m. in an area 20 miles south of Albuquerque close to the bed of the Rio Grande river, an area Tim Good visited together with Villa in 1976.
At one point the craft that Villa told Good to have been about 150 feet in diameter, projected a beam of light that caused a small bush fire, a Biblical "burning bush", then another beam shot out and extinguished it. Good says smoke from the fire is visible in trees just below the craft, and just above and to the left of the tailgate of Villa's truck on one of the pictures. The craft also produced a "miniature tornado" causing the lower branches of some trees to appear blurred. The turbulence was so high, said Villa, that he thought he and his truck would be blown away but suddenly the wind ceased, as if it had been "switched off", and the surrounding air became quite hot and there was dead silence.
Tim Good says that based on the atmospheric hazing or "thickening" effect, whereby an object becomes increasingly less well defined in imagery the greater its distance from a camera, Villa's photographs show a large craft at considerable distance from his camera.
The ship landed on telescopic tripod landing gear that can be seen protruding from the bottom of the craft in photos 7 and 8. Three crewmen with light-brown hair and tan skin about five feet eight inches tall talked with Villa for nearly two hours about personal as well as general matters.

The German bulletin indicates that on April 18, 1965, Paul Villa was invited for a second time for a photography appointment near Bernalillo, 40 km from Albuquerque. A disc demonstrated how it burned a small tree with a beam and how it turned the fire off again. The disc is accompanied by three small balls, each being a "telemetry ball". Villa takes pictures, discusses two hours in Spanish with the UFO occupants.
He is amazed at a cloud formation, which has the shape of an Indian lying on the back. The space men explain to him using telepathy: "We protected the Indians since always and the Hopi and Navajo have an important function in the new age."
Villa says it reminds him that the Navajo symbol has the shape of a flying saucer. In another demonstration, the UFO even produces a small sandstorm, as proof that "they" can also control the weather.

The ufologist indicates that on April 18, 1965 in the USA, New Mexico, Paul Villa managed to make a second series of pictures and was embarked in Bernalillo. A saucer made an air display and set fire to a tree with a blue ray. It was accompanied by three round projectiles which functioned as rangefinders. Villa took pictures and discussed a short moment in Spanish with the crew.
The ufologist indicates that the source is "Mitarbeiter, 'Ufo Geheimnisse', Berlin, Januar 1998."

[...] On Sunday (of Easter) April 18, 1965, Villa is again "guided telepatically" in a point close to close to Bernacillo [sic, Bernalillo] (New Mexico), near to the place where he obbserved an apparatus hovering in the air silently and he photographs it (below). The apparatus projects a ray which sets ablaze a small undergrowth. The smoke of the undergrowth is visible (lighter color) in the trees right below the apparatus, and just above the left of the door of the Villa's van. In a photograph they burn the sleep of a tree - by using a ray directed by the ship. These things are made to show their capacities. The apparatus landed and Villa evaluate its diameter as 300 feet. It has a telescopic landing tripod under the apparatus. The 3 crew men have light hair and tanned skin. Photograph allegedly taken on January 19, 1966 close to Albuquerque (New Mexico) Villa discusses with them during almost 2 H of personal but also general matters. They speak to him about the astronauts, Edward White and James MacDivitt, on their GT-4 flight, who really saw a ship when they reported the observation of an object like Pegasus. They also say that the government will not show the Mariner 4 photographs because they show pumping stations of the canals of Mars. They add that about 1966, 17 nations will have the atomic bomb. Villa indicates that they speak in English but also in Spanish (his native language). On their advice, Villa stops smoking in order to increase his capacities to receive telepathic communications. Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Albuquerque, New Mexico, on April 18, 1965, at 1600, close to the bed of the Rio Grande Paul Villa saw a craft about 150 ft in diameter that projected a beam of light that caused a small bush fire, then another beam shot out and extinguished it. The craft also produces a "miniature tornado" causing the lower branches of some trees to appear blurred. The turbulence was so high, Villa reported, that he thought he and his truck would be blown away. Suddenly, the wind ceased, and the surrounding air became quite hot and there was dead silence. The ship landed on telescopic tripod landing gear. The three occupants had light brown hair and tan skin and appeared to be about five ft eight inches tall. Villa claimed to have talked to them for nearly two hours about personal as well as general matters.
Albert Rosales indicates as source Timothy Good, Alien Base.
Below: A second og the photographs series by Villa from this alleged April 18, 1965, contact. This is the color version of the image about which Gabriel Green indicated that smoke is visible in the brush below the saucer.
Left: Two other color photographs of the alleged saucer by Villa allegedly on the same day. Note how in all the pictures, there are tree branches above the saucer, very conveniently placed to hang a model saucer on a string. |
