In 1976, a British ufology bulletin has apparently reported that 12 years ago, in the summer of 1964, in Little Lever, Lancashire, England, by night, an anonymous elderly woman saw a glowing orange sphere silently explode near her house earlier in the evening.
Later in her bedroom she saw a 1.50 meters tall being without a distinct face, wearing an outfit composed of small rings.
She was told telepathically not to be afraid, that a group of such entities was temporarily stranded on Earth.
Another time, three beings appeared in the bedroom, thanked her for not being afraid, and told her that they were leaving soon.

[Ref. bh1:] ROBERT E. BARTHOLOMEW AND GEORGE S. HOWARD:
The authors indicate that in the Summer of 1964, in Little Lever, England, by night, an anonymous woman saw a glowing orange sphere silently explode near her house earlier in the evening, and later encountered a 5 feet tall being without a face in her bedroom.
The being wore an outfit composed of small rings.
She was told telepathically not to be afraid, that a group of such entities was temporarily stranded on Earth.
In a later contact, three beings appeared in the bedroom, thanked her for not being afraid, and told her that they were leaving soon.
The authors indicate that the sources are the Flying Saucer Review 22, No.3 of 1976, page 27; the Northern UFO Network News, N.25 of 1976; and Awareness, Autumn 1976, page 9.
[Ref. rr1:] PETER ROGERSON AND JOHN RIMMER:
The authors indicate that one part of a rather confused story told by an elderly lady at Little Lever, Lancashire, involved a bedroom visitor in summer 1964, described as 5 feet tall, humanoid but with no detectable features, wearing a suit made of little round grey rings.
Later the lady encountered three beings, and had a contact experience.
The authors indicate that the source is NUFON News, June 1976.
It does seem that the story is rather lacking detailed information than being confused. The exploding light does not have to be necessarily linked to the being the woman thought she saw. This being could have been a vision caused by an ordinary episode of hypnagogic hallucination, also known as "old hag" syndrome, as well as the three other beings: it is certainly not without significance that they were all "seen" in the bedroom.
