In 1999, an unnamed person reported via a web form to a ufology website on a sighting dated August 20, 1959, with the location given as Lake Bonita, New Mexico, the duration as 0330, the title as "it landed and lit up the mountian like day. there were some sort of peoplw with lights that where they put them it wasa like daylight."
The report's text was:
"Me and 3 girls I met from NM was sleeping in a station wagon. we had a wind up clock to see how late we could stay up. We say a bright light from the sky and it look like it landed on the side of the Mt.We saw some sort of people walking and they had lights and where they shon them it was like daylight. It was so scary they put the lights up to where we were we ducked down and inside the car was like daylight. when they finally went on down the road we climed out of the car onto the ground and crawled to the cabin where the girls parents were. One of the girls was so scared her mother had to slap her to get her back."

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Lake Bonita, New Mexico, on August 20, 1959, at 03:00 a.m., the witness and three young girls were sleeping in a station wagon, when they saw a bright fireball like object descend and land on the side of the nearby mountain. Several figures carrying bright flashlight like objects apparently emerged from the object and approached the witnesses' location, shining beams of light inside the vehicle, illuminating the area like daylight. The figures then left the area and the witness exited their vehicles and crawled to a nearby cabin.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is NUFORC.
This is a story of low strangeness based on memories dating back to 4 decades, by a person not named who was perhaps a young child then, reported via the web, without following investigation; it unfortunately leaves us with a totally anecdotic report.
