Summarized in many ufological sources but apparently unverified and not investigated, the case of November 6, , or 5, 1957 is about a certain Richard Kehoe, of the general phone company of Santa Monica in California, who is said to have told the Press and some unspecified authorities that when driving at 05:40 a.m. along Vista del Mar, near Playa del Rey, California, USA, in a beaches area, his car's engine stalled, like that of three other cars.
When the drivers came out to see what was wrong, they saw on the beach an egg-shaped spacecraft in a "blue fog" or hovering on a blue fog, of tanned color or "cream" color, with two metallic circles which enclosed it and on which it rested.
Kehoe stated that two "small men" however said to have been 1.60 meters tall approximately came out of the UFO and asked questions, to him and the other drivers, such as for example, where they were going to, who they were, what time it was, etc, questions said to have been asked in a foreign language that resembled English but was not understood.
It seems that Kehoe described these beings as human beings, except for their skin color that appeared of a yellowish green in the early morning light. They were said to have been dressed of black leather trousers, white belts, and jerseys of light color.
Kehoe is said to have told these men that he had to go to his work, then these men went back into their apparatus which "disappeared in the sky," after what the cars started again without waiting.
The two other drivers are said to be Ronald Burke, of Redondo Beach, and Joe Thomas, of Torrance, Kehoe stating that it was Thomas who called the police, and some ufological sources vaguely mentioning that these other alleged witnesses were not checked or were not corroborated.

[Ref. lo1:] CORAL AND JIM LORENZEN:
The author indicates that there was a strange history of blocked cars and small men, who was told to the authorities and the press the morning of November 6, 1957: Richard Kehoe, whom one should not confuse with Donald Keyhoe of NICAP, an employee of the General Phone Company of Santa Monica in California, told the experience he lived at the dawn, which was discredited because of the refusal of the researchers to accept as realities UFO occupants resembling humans, and because of the lack of witnesses to confirm the report.
Kehoe declared that whereas he was driving along Vista del Mar in Playa del Rey, California, an area of beaches, at 05:40 a.m., his engine stalled, like that of three other cars. When the drivers came out to see what was wrong, they discovered a ovoid spacecraft surrounded of a "blue fog" on the beach.
It is said that the apparatus was egg-shaped, was of "tanned or cream" color, with two metallic circles which enclosed it and on which the object rested.
Kehoe declared that two "small men" of approximately 1.60 meters, which is not really small, left this UFO and asked questions to him and the other drivers, such as for example, "where we were going, who we were, what time it was, etc."
Kehoe stated that their skin seemed to be of a yellowish green in the early morning light, but for the rest they were normal. He stated they were wearing black leather trousers, white belts, and jerseys of light color.
Kehoe has said that the small men spoke in language which resembled English, but that he could not understand them, and that he just told then that he had to go to his work, and that these men then returned into their apparatus which "disappeared in the sky," after what the cars went away without waiting.
The two other drivers were identified under the names of Ronald Burke, of Redondo Beach, and Joe Thomas, of Torrance, Kehoe stating that it was Thomas who had called the police.

The same report than in [lo1] was re-published in Charles Bowen's book on the alleged encounters with UFO occupants.
[Ref. jv1:] JACQUES VALLEE:
In his catalogue of UFO landings, Jacques Vallée indicates that on November 6, 1957, at 05:40 a.m. in Playa del Rey, California, Richard Kehoe was driving near the beach when his engine stopped, and so did three other cars. The man got out and observed an egg-shaped object wrapped in "a blue haze" on the beach. Two men, below average height got out of the craft and asked them questions about their identity, what time it was, etc. They looked normal wore black leather pants, white belts, light-colored jerseys, and seemed to have yellowish-green skin. They went back inside the craft, which left rapidly, and the cars could then be started.
Vallée indicates that his source is "Humanoids 57."

The authors indicate that Richard Keyhoe [sic] claims that on November 6, 1957, near Playa del Rey, in California, at 05:40, while he was driving along the Vista del Mar roadway, his engine stopped, as did those of three other cars. The drivers saw an egg-shaped object enveloped in a "blue haze" on the nearby beach, and Keyhoe said that two "little men" 5 feet 5 inches tall left the object and began asking questions of him and other drivers, such as "where we were going, who we were, what time it was, etc."
Keyhoe said their skin was yellowish-green, but otherwise they were normal, wearing black leather pants, white belts and light-colored jerseys.
Keyhoe told the beings that he had to go to work, and they reentered the ship and flew off. The authors specify that the presence of the other witnesses has never been corroborated.
The authors indicate that their sources are Coral Lorenzen, "UFO Occupants in the United States," in Charles Bowen, editor, in The Humanoids, Great Britain: Futura, 1977, pp. 156-57, citing C.S.I. Newsletter, December 1957.
[Ref. kr1:] KEVIN RANDLE:
The author indicates that on November 5, 1957, near Playa del Rey, California, Richard Kehoe reported that his car's engine failed, that he got out of it and noticed other drivers having the same problem.
He reported that he saw an egg-shaped craft hovering in a blue haze, and two creatures with yellow-green skin, who got out to ask questions to the men.
Once the aliens returned to their craft and took off, all cars started easily.
[Ref. mk1:] MARK RODEGHIER:
The US ufologist indicates that on November 5, 1957, at 05:40, in Playa del Rey, California, USA, Richard Keyhoe, while driving to work along Vista del Mar at the beach, experienced engine failure, as did drivers of two other cars in the area. All drivers got out and saw an egg-shaped object in a blue haze on the beach. Two humanoids got out of it and asked the men questions such as "Where are you going?" and "What time is it?" The humanoids, who had yellow-green skin, then got back in the craft which quickly departed. The witnesses' cars could be restarted.
The author indicates that the source is Flying Saucer Occupants, by Coral and Jim Lorenzen.
[Ref. dj1:] DONALD JOHNSON:
Donald Johnson indicates that on November 6, 1957 at 05:40 a.m., Richard Kehoe was driving near the beach in Playa del Rey, California when his car engine stopped, and so did three other cars. He and the other witnesses got out of their cars and observed an egg-shaped object wrapped in "a blue haze" on the beach. The object seemed to be resting on two metal rings.
Two men of below average height got out of the craft and asked them questions about their identity, what time it was, etc. They looked to be normal human beings but with a skin of olive complexion. They wore black leather pants, white belts, and light-colored jerseys.
They went back inside the craft, which left rapidly, and the cars could then be started.
Donald Johnson indicates that the sources are Coral and Jim Lorenzen, Encounters with UFO Occupants, page 178; Jacques Vallee, Passport to Magonia: A Century of Landings, case 431.
[Ref. pd1:] PRESTON DENNETT:
The author indicates that in the early morning of November 6, 1957, in Playa Del Rey, three cars driving along the Pacific Coast Highway suddenly stalled when a large egg-shaped object surrounded in a "blue haze" landed on the beach only a few yards away.
Witnesses Richard Kehoe, Ronald Burke, and Joe Thomas exited their cars and observed two strange-looking men disembark from the object. They had "yellowish-green skin" and wore "black leather pants, white belts and light colored jerseys."
They walked up to the witnesses and begin asking questions. Kehoe and the others were unable to understand the occupants, who were apparently speaking a foreign language. After a few moments, the occupants returned to the object, it took off and accelerated out of sight.
It is possible that the more primary source, the CSI bulletin, might contain more precise information on the story, for example, how the witness testified, and what was really noted or not about the alleged other witnesses.
As it stands, the story contains a number of contradictions: the UFO occupants are said to have spoken in English, but in a language that was not understood, and yet the questions that asked are reported.
The chances that the whole story was just a hoax are not null; the story as it stands, in any case, is nothing clear and complete.
