It seems that FBI's local Special Agent Edward McShane investigated a case in Plattsburgh Air Force Base, New York, USA, that occurred about September, 1955, at 04:00 a.m., involving a 19-year old youth on night duty at the Air Base who saw a blue white flash and an elliptical object on the ground outside.
It is said in ufological catalogues that he was frightened and he closed the door, but then another door was flung violently open, and a man taller than the 7-foot doorway was seen stooping and looking in. He wore long black boots. The witness fainted; when he recovered, all was gone.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Plattsburgh Air Force Base, New York, on about September, 1955, at 0400 a.m., a 19-year old youth on night duty at the Air Base saw a blue white flash and an elliptical object on the ground outside. Frightened, he closed the door. Then another door was flung violently open, and a man taller than the 7-foot doorway was seen stooping and looking in. He wore long black boots. The witness fainted; when he recovered, all was gone.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Edward McShane for FBI, and Humcat 1955-23.
I found out in 2008 on www.altlaw.org/v1/cases/555852 that FBI Agent Edward McShane was stationed in Plattsburgh, New York, in 1974.
On static.pressrepublican.com/obit_archives/obits/ob060300.htm I found out in 2008 that Mr. Edward McShane, from Plattsburgh, was employed by the FBI, U.S. Department of Justice from 1939 to 1977 in Albany, New York City, Washington, D.C., Houston, Corpus Christi and San Francisco. From 1947 to 1950 he was Special Agent In Charge in Plattsburgh and from 1950 to 1952 Administrative Assistant to Director J.E. Hoover in Washington, returning to Plattsburgh as Special Agent In Charge from 1951 to 1977. He passed in 2000 at his 83, of West Court Street in Plattsburgh.
I did not find related documents at search.fbi.gov in 2008. I also found nothing related in the Unusual Phenomena Listing material at the FBI's electronic reading room at foia.fbi.gov/unusual.htm, nothing in the US Air Force Project Blue Book archive.
This unfortunate since there seems to have been an interesting story, explained or unexplained, behind the short case summary that survived. It leaves me with a case with insufficient data.
