AUTUMN 1951, DUGNY-SUR-MEUSE, MEUSE, FRANCE, A GROUP OF WORKERS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

In a regional UFO sightings catalogue by French ufologist Raoul Robé, cited by Albert Rosales, there is a summary of a case in France, in Dugny-sur-Meuse, France, on Fall 1951, at night, when a group of workers were attempting to reload the battery of their stalled truck, and suddenly an orange light illuminated the area around them.

They saw a luminous orange globe on the ground nearby. Suddenly, from out of this globe a tall beautiful woman stepped out. The woman was human in appearance, tall, with long blond flowing hair over her shoulders. She wore a blue robe with a belt and was smiling at the men.

She was carrying what appeared to be an infant in her hands, which she caressed lovingly.

She suddenly disappeared, and the globe brightened, taking on the appearance of a "jellyfish".

The witness - or witnesses ? - felt a strange sensation of cold as if being inside an icebox. Soon, the light blinked out and vanished. The men left the area convinced that they had encountered the Blessed Virgin.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Dugny-sur-Meuse, France, on Fall 1951, at night, a group of workers were attempting to re-charge the battery of their stalled truck, when suddenly an orange light illuminated the area around them and they saw a luminous orange globe on the ground nearby. Suddenly from out of the globe a tall beautiful woman steps out. The woman was Nordic in appearance with long blond flowing hair over her shoulders. She wore a blue robe with a belt and was smiling at the men. The tall woman was carrying what appeared to be an infant in her hands, which she caressed lovingly. Abruptly the figure vanished and the globe brightens taking on the appearance of a "jellyfish". The witness felt a strange sensation of cold as if being inside an icebox. Soon the light blinked out and vanished. The men left the area convinced that they had encountered the "Virgin".

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Raoul Robe, Regional Catalogue.

Points to consider:

Interestingly or not, in Dugny-sur-Meuse, on June 1975, at 06:30 p.m., according to Denys Breysse's "Project Becassine" CE3 catalogue cited by Albert Rosales, several youngsters reported encountering a blue cloud-like hovering close to the ground in a field. A very tall "beautiful" woman with long blond hair appeared in front of the blue cloud. She wore a long bright robe. There was total silence during the encounter. Soon the figure and the cloud vanished in plain sight of the witnesses. (There will be a file on this case - to which I have no other information so far.)

Ufologically speaking, the story has nothing to defend its credibility. I found no primary source, which means it could have been a simple rumour, some newspaper article, or any sensationalist source or anything else. The witnesses are not named, no information on their subject is found, this "appearance of the Virgin" does not appear in any catalogue of such that I could find, it is not "recognized" by the Church, and there is absolutely no trace of any investigation whatsoever. It is thus impossible to me to pronounce any sound evaluation on this case.
