1991, HALIDON, SOUTH AUSTRALIA, AUSTRALIA, A WOMAN:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

In 1995, Australian ufologist Keith Basterfield interviewed a woman whose anonymity he preserved.

She told him that in 1951, she was a young married woman, whose baby had recently died. Her husband was a retired policeman, and they owned a 3500 acre property, north of Murray Bridge, Halidon, South Australia.

Early one morning that year as her husband was away from the farm at the time, she was out with her dog rounding up cattle. She walked up a sand dune to overlook the surrounding countryside for the cattle.

Upon reaching the top of the dune, she observed an unusual object, resting on the ground on four legs, of the size of a "two bedroom house."

She watched for a few moments, and decided to walk towards the object. As she did, three figures appeared from a door underneath the object. The figures floated down to the ground.

The entities were described as male, of normal height, adult human looking beings. Their facial features were normal human ones with very clear blue eyes. Their skin seemed "of a delicate nature", smooth, with no wrinkles. They were clad in tight fitting silver-colored suits, with silver-colored boots and a hood over their heads.

She willingly entered into the object, floating up in to it, as if riding an invisible lift. Inside there was a being standing at what today, would be called a computer console. The being was moving the hands over the panel, without touching it, yet lights flickered on and off as if in response to the movements. She also noted a screen like a TV in the room.

She said she was not scared and felt comfortable in the presence of those "men." A conversation with them ensued verbally in English, though she had the feeling they could also use telepathy: at the beginning of the visitation, they "talked without talking." She had little recollection in 1995 of the content of the conversation.

She said the beings knew that she had recently lost a child, and reassured her that things would be fine. She did not know how they could know this. Eventually she came out of the object by "floating" to the ground.

A round circle was found on the ground where each leg of the object had touched it. She tried to talk to people about her experience, but people just scoffed.

[Ref. go1:] GODELIEVE VAN OVERMEIRE:

Genevieve van Overmeire indicates that in 1951, in Australia, Halidon, Murray Bridge, Mrs. X was a young married woman, and at the time of the events her husband was away from the farm. They had just lost their first baby. Very early in the morning, Mrs. X made her round of inspection of the cattle, accompanied by the dog.

She climbed on a small hill to get a better overall sight, and was suprised to see an unusual object, on the ground, resting on four feet.

It seemed to her that it was of the size of a "house with two bedroom". She looked at this thing, then decided to get closer to see what it was.

While getting under way she saw the appearance of three creatures coming out of the bottom of the object, these creatures seemed to float. Mrs. X was however not afraid to see this, feeling rather in confidence.

The creatures seemed to her to be of male sex, the size and the aspect of normal human beings, with a beautiful wrinklesless skin and blue eyes. They wore combinations of only one part, of silver color and boots of the same color. On their head, they had a hat.

She was led, with her approval, into the object, by a kind of invisible elevator which gave her the impression to float. Inside, a creature was upright in front of what we would call today a computer control panel. He moved the hands above a panel, without touching it, and the lights were flickering in response to his movements. There was also a screen, like a television screen in the room.

The conversation between her and the "men" was in English, but she did not always have to speak to make herself understood. Today Mrs. X does not remember very well the topic of the conversation. The "men" told her that they knew that she had just lost a child, but that things were going to be better.

She came out of the machine floating with the invisible elevator and when the object had left, four circles of the landing feet remained on the ground.

When she tried to speak to people around her about his experience, she became the laughing stock.

Genevieve van Overmeire indicates that the source is Keith Baskerfield.

[Ref. kb1:] KEITH BASTERFIELD:

The Australian ufologist indicates that in 1951, in Halidon, south Australia, Mrs A. was out rounding up cattle when she came across a landed object resting on legs.

Three male figures emerged and floated to the ground. They were of normal human appearance, wearing silver suits, silver boots and a hood over their heads.

She was taken willingly into the object, into a room where there were what would be called computer consoles today.

The beings communicated with her verbally and told her things about herself they should not have known. She was then returned to the ground.

Keith Basterfield indicates that the source is his personal investigation in 1995.

Three figures floated down from underneath that object, described as of normal adult height, with normal human facial features, with very clear, blue eyes. Their skin seemed smooth, their clothing was a tight fitting silver coloured suit with a hood over their heads, and they had silver boots.

Mrs A. went willingly inside the object, a telepathic conversation ensued, then she was floated back out of the object, which left marks on the ground.

Keith Basterfield specified that this came from his interview with Mrs A. in January 1995.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Halidon, South Australia, in 1951, in the early morning, Mrs. A was a young, married woman, whose husband was away from the farm at the time, and whose baby had recently died. Although she tried to talk to people about her experience she only received ridicule.

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Keith Basterfield.

Points to consider:

It would be a severe mistake to grant credence to the story by arguing that the description of computer-like devices in the UFO is outstanding for year 1951. As it is reported in 1995, if it was invented, the outstanding feature are not.

The case seems to rest entirely on a single witness, later reported story. No information about the witness psychology is provided.
