Case Nr 10The 1st of November 1947 in Kayl (Grand-Duché de Luxembourg). A young girl aged 10, E, Vinandy, sees marian apparitions (not validated by the Church). (Ref.: E. Tizané, p. 287 and 300, Alonso). |
The alleged facts - in non-ufology sources - are that between November 1, 1947 and December 30, 1947, Emilie "Milly" Wanding, Milly Vinandy in other sources, 10-year-old girl, claimed to have seen "apparitions of the Blessed Virgin", sometimes accompanied by celestial beings such as baby Jesus, angels or saints. She also stated that she saw Sister Lucia, the alleged main witness of the alleged Fatima apparitions, who was living in Spain at that time.
She "saw" this at the fourth station of a "Way of the Cross" in the forest between the village of Kayl and a small chapel called "The Cave of the Minor".
Soon, it was said that her two cousins, Jean and Nicole Denter, also had these visions. From 1948, Milly has "apparitions" on demand - as in most cases "apparitions of the Virgin" she was the only one to claim to see, the gathered believers did not see what she claimed to see. It is said that the children were examined by "the authorities" who considered them "perfectly normal". Pilgrims came on the scene, some reporting miraculous healings, and a Swiss doctor donated for the construction of a chapel called "Léiffrächen" on the site.
It is said that the Church "never recognized the authenticity of these facts"; in fact, the Church neither investigated nor decided on the case.
There have been at least 22 recorded cases of these "Blessed Virgin" apparitions in the world in 1947 (udayton.edu/imri/mary/a/apparitions-statistics-modern.php). "Skeptical" ufologists, such as Raoul Robé, who included such cases in their catalogs have introduced only a few ot them, always in the form of very short and very incomplete summaries. Their idea is obviously not that the "Blessed Virgin" was an alien, but to give "examples" of inventions, believing that this proves, or at least suggests, that stories of encounters with extraterrestrials beings are also inventions, simply more "in the mood if the times."
