October 1947, Buck Barn, West Sussex. U-K., Don Cottrell:
Brief summary of the event and follow-up:
In his INTCAT catalog of encounters with "entities", around 2016, "skeptical" British ufologist Peter Rogerson indicates that
according to "Foreman 1978 p57", in October 1947, Don Cottrell was motorcycling to West Grinstead, when at the Buck Barn crossroad, West Sussex, U-K., he saw a ragged-looking old man sitting on the milestone. The man then got up and seemed to glide right in front of Don's cycle. Don had a sensation of cold and managed to stop. He searched all over the place but there was no sign of the man.

Points to consider:
Again, [pr1] gives a reference "Foreman 1978 p57" which did not allow me to find what this is about. It would have been sufficient to give a firstname, or a publication title.
This is still one of those "ghost stories" taken randomly by [pr1] - there are so many more that he does not pick up - not as a stories of UFO occupants, but to give "examples" of imaginative inventions and delusions that he thinks should explain stories of UFO occupants.
Apparently, apart from "Foreman 1978", there were not many other "sources"; I did not find anything on this story. Its strangeness is low (a tramp who "glides" and "disappears", no information about lighting conditions, night, day, fog etc.). And there is no information that allows me to estimate the credibility of the story (second hand, invented folklore, investigated case?).
