Albert Rosales published in the 2000's as a "humanoid encounter" a story he wound on the "I Was Abducted" website, saying that in Southern California, location not given, in 1947, late in the night, a 5-year-old girl who shared a room with four sisters recalled waking up late in the night to see a female whom she did not know sitting in front of her on her bed.
That woman had something on her head resembling a turban. The girl was startled and began to cry. She looked around and saw that her sisters were mot in the room. She asked for her sisters and the woman who was very calming, said, "Your sisters are not here," but she did not tell her where they were.
The girl was by now hysterical and the strange woman, in apparent attempt to reassure her, took her throughout her house, but instead of walking it felt as if they were floating just above the floor.
Everything appeared normal in the house and she saw the rest of her family sleeping peacefully. Her next recollection was waking up to everything like it should have been. Her sisters were in the room with her, and her brothers were sleeping in the same position she had seen them when she floated around the house with the strange woman.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates that in Southern California at an exact location not given, in 1947, late in the night, a 5-year-old witness who shared a room with four sisters recalled waking up one late night to see a female whom she did not know sitting in front of her on her bed.
She had something on her head resembling a turban. The witness was startled and began to cry. She looked around and could see that none of her sisters were in the room. She asked for her sisters and the female who was very calming said, "Your sisters are not here," but did not tell her where they were.
The witness was by now hysterical and the strange woman in apparent attempt to assure her took the witness throughout her house, but instead of walking it felt as if they were floating just above the floor.
Everything appeared normal in the house and she saw the rest of her family sleeping peacefully. Her next recollection was waking up to everything like it should have been. Her sisters were in the room with her. And her brothers were sleeping in the same position she had seen them when she floated around the house with the strange woman.

I first note that there is no connection in this story with either a UFO or any UFO occupant. The childhood memory is that of the appearance of a woman, not an extraterrestrial.
There is no real "abduction" either. The girl is taken to "float" in the house by the woman, she is not taken aboard a UFO.
The rather obvious explanation - but ignored by a large part of the public, and even still ignored by some ufologists - is a hypnagogic hallucination episode. It happens to a good proportion of children, it starts in bed, it ends in bed, because everything happens in a state of sleep with partial awakening, in which ordinary dreams take on an almost "real" feeling. Floating is perfectly ordinary in dreams. The fact of not having an "end" of the experience and of simply finding oneself awake again is also typical of hypnagogic hallucinations.
In fact, I had a first very similar experience in my childhood, in holiday in a hotel: a room maid appeared before me while I was asleep. It was not an "extraterrestrial" since the topic was not in my mind at all then. This allowed me to understand that these experiences give a sensation of "reality" much stronger than the memories of ordinary dreams, though being less "real" than the experiences of the ordinary state of being awake. I am not surprised that people who experienced this have been quite puzzled, or even thought of an "extraterrestrial abduction". Such experiences, of course, have a more "extraterrestrial" coloration in other cases lived "in the bedroom", since this theme is now widely known to the general public. These hypnagogic hallucinations are obviously not the explanation of experiences lived in the waking state, but explain very well a good number of stories of "bedroom visitors" and "alien abductions" at night while the witness sleeps or is falling into sleep or about to wake up.
How and why hypnagogic hallucinations occur can be discovered by reading these references:

Probable hypnagogic hallucination, not UFO-related.
