British "skeptical" researcher Peter Rogerson indicated in in "entities" catalog in the 2010's that according to "Green 1980 p14", in 1932, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, U-K., Miss Yarrow, the teenage daughter of the caretaker of the Library and Museum saw a young man with a "pleasant face" in an upper corridor.
"When she challenged him, the figure just went through the closed door at the end of the passage. When the room was open there was no sign of the man."

[Ref. pr1:] PETER ROGERSON:
1932.PETERBOROUGH (PETERBOROUGH now CAMBRIDGESHIRE : ENGLAND) Miss Yarrow the teenage daughter of the caretaker of the Library and Museum saw a young man with a “pleasant face” in an upper corridor. When she challenged him, the figure just went through the closed door at the end of the passage. When the room was open there was no sign of the man. Green 1980 p14 |
As far as I know, only Peter Rogerson though this should be included in the ufology literature. The indicated source, "Green 1980 p14", is not properly referenced: a book title or author's first name would have helped.
Peter Rogerson explains that his INTCAT catalogue is meant to show that people's imagination, and misinterpretations, always existed. He sometimes gives an "evaluation" to his cases, mostly when these look like a story about aliens. He often notes that a case is backdated, mostly when the case looks alien. For some reason he did not do this here.
Rogerson says "ET proponents" ufologists did wrongly include such cases in their works as old forms of UFO occupants reports. Certainly, some ufologist did so, but it seems, in this case, he is the only one to do it. So, this story entered ufology because of a "skeptical" researcher, not because of a "believer".
This story seems to be a typical ghost story, unrelated to UFOs or their alleged occupants. It seems to be reported late, with a single witness, a teenager whose precise age is not given, and no investigation is mentioned. It could very well be totally invented.
Update on August 31, 2018:
A reader of my page reports to me by email on August 30, 2018, that the source refernece "Green 1980 p14" given in [pr1] may be Timothy Green Beckley, "Strange Encounters Bizarre and Eerie Contact with Flying Saucer Occupants", New York, Global Communications, 1980.
