July 24, 1930, Mays Landing, New Jersey, USA, Mrs Sutton:
Brief summary of the event and follow-up:
A web catalog, referring to George M. Eberhart's bibliography of "anomalies" published in 1980, summarizes that there was a "close encounter of the third kind" on July 24, 1930, in Mays Landing, New Jersey, USA.
A "flying humanoid" or "Jersey Devil", a winged creature, was reportdely seen by a Mrs. Sutton.
A mysterious physical anomaly and an inhuman creature were reported by a female witness (Sutton). A winged being was seen.

Points to consider:
I did not find any press sources mentioning this alleged meeting.
George M. Eberhart is the source indicated in [ud1]; given its seriousness, there must be something to it... However, [ud1] could be wrong about the year for example.
To get an idea of what the "Jersey Devil" or "Leeds Devil" affairs were at their beginnings, refer to the cases in New Jersey, USA, from the 1909 year page of my catalog.
For this case, this could be a misinterpretation - a big bird for example, as often with the "Jersey Devil" - but my data is so meager for the time being that I can hardly say more.
