The British "skeptical" ufologist Peter Rogerson published in the 2016 version of his INTCAT ufology catalogue a summary of a "Bigfoot" sighting.
The original source, actually from the web, he gave told that in Fall in the 1930's, in Leon county, Texas, USA, along the Trinity river about 120 miles from Houston, two men, Lawyer Henry and another fellow, were quail hunting along a fence line near River (A swamp, tall old oak, hickory and pecan) when they saw a very large, 9-feet-tall brown black creature burst from the very thick brush carrying a calf.
The calf weighed approx 300 lbs and this animal had it in its arms running upright. The men fled, sped back to their employer, a Mr. J. W. who would like to remain anonymous "due to his failing health."
As dusk approached, Mr. J.W. the Sherrif, and the hunters returned to the location to find one dead calf, entrails removed and brush busted up all around. The three dogs Mr. J. W. brought would not get out of the car and the concenious opinion was to leave.
The story was also published, apparently, in Albert Rosales' ufology catalogue.

Report # 2477 (Class B) Submitted on Friday, October 9, 1998. Nine foot tall brown/black creature seen carrying a calf. YEAR: 1930 SEASON: Fall STATE: Texas COUNTY: Leon County LOCATION DETAILS: Leon County Texas, 1930's along the Trinity river about 120 miles from Houston OBSERVED: This is the second time I have listed this report. Two men Lawyer Henry and another fellow were quail hunting along a fence line near the Trinity River (A swamp, tall old oak, hickory and pecan.) They saw a very large 9' tall brown/black creature burst from the very thick brush carrying a calf. The calf weighed approx 300lbs and this animal had it in its arms running upright. Needless to say they departed the area and sped back to their employer a MR. JW who would like to remain confedential due to his failing health. As dusk approached MR JW, Sherrif, and the hunters returned to the location to find; one dead calf, entrails removed and brush busted up all around. The three dogs MR JW brought would not get out of the car and the concenious opinion was to leave. Not long after this occured MR Lawyer Henry, his family and many neighbors left the area. A couple of their house still stand, although in severe disrepair and grown up with brush. The area is still remote and on private land. OTHER STORIES: For years the local and the early settlers in this part of texas always talked about a "legend" that would steal hogs and cattle, and ruin your garden. ENVIRONMENT: Swampy river bottem with numerous stands of pecan trees, very remote. 20 miles from nearest paved road. |
[Ref. pr1:] PETER ROGERSON:
Fall 1930. Evening.LEON COUNTY (TEXAS : USA) Two men out quail hunting near Trinity River encountered a 2.7m tall creature covered in dark hair coming through the undergrowth. The creature was carrying a calf in its arms. The men fled and called their employer and the three returned to the scene where they found the disembowelled carcass of the calf in an area of damaged brush. Rosales 1930-49 p30 citing Bigfoot Research Org website |
There is almost no description of the creature, except: 9-feet-tall, black brown, able to lift a calf while standing on two legs, dogs are frightened.
This is totally compatible with a bear. Of course, there is no bear, normally, in Texas. However, bears can escape from circuses, zoos, bear shows.
This has of course nothing to do with UFOs or UFO occupants.

Possible bear, not UFO-related.
