In their 1979 book about the so-called "Jersey Devil", authors James F. McCloy and Ray Miller said that around 1930, Howard Marcey and John Huntzinger, of Erial, New Jersey, saw a particularly grotesque Jersey Devil: it had the "body of a man, head of a cow, large bat wings, big feet, and flew up in the air, and cut off the tops of trees."
Some time after that, Marcey's 12-year-old daughter Kathy, accompanied by Jacqueline Huntzinger, saw the same thing at the same spot.

At about the same time that day [of July 1930], Howard Marcey and John Huntzinger observed the Jersey Devil not far from their homes in Erial: they said the beast had the "body of a man, head of a cow, large bat-like wings, big feet, and flew up in the air, and then cut the tops off trees." Strangely. the two men's daughters saw the same thing at exactly the same place some unspecified time after that. |

Surprisingly, I did not find a single newspaper article reporting the alleged events. This suggests that it may be a testimony not published in the Press but collected late, perhaps.
To get an idea of what the "Jersey Devil" or "Leeds Devil" affair was when it started, check the New Jersey, USA, cases of the 1909 year page of my catalog.
As of this case, the description is such that at first sight it can only be a pure invention. However, there is also the possibility that it was an owl (wings, in flight, owl's ears making the horns of the "head of a cow").

Invention or owl, not UFO-related.
