In 1988, Italian ufologist Paolo Fiorino managed to hear the testimony of Francesca C. on what she saw nearly 60 years before, in 1927, whereas she was 11 or 12 years old.
She lived in Corbola in the district of Rovigo, and one morning when she was going to get drinking water close to the river Po, whereas she was on the bank, she saw a round and luminous object coming from above; which dove in the water at approximately to 7 or 8 meters of her.
Perplexed and partly frightened, she initially thought of the possibility of a plane which would have fallen, but after what seemed to her to be three to five minutes, the object came out of the water which seemed to bubble, with many bubbles, and left in the sky.
She said she managed to observe, inside the object, without Fiorino being able to determine if it were through a porthole or a window or otherwise, a "small man" visible only from the neck up, so that he gave the impression to be sitting. His head was not covered and his features were similar to those of the humans.
Francesca C. indicated to Fiorino on his request, that she had heard a noise like that produced by planes, similar to a whistling sound, without her being sure of that detail. She also remembered to have been dazzled by an intense luminosity coming from the object, even saying that she "almost lost" visual capacity due to the dazzling. This luminosity was present both at the time of the descent and the departure of the object.
She evaluated the diameter of the object as approximately of 2 or 3 meters, but it was difficult to evaluate how approximate this was.
Not knowing how to explain what she had seen, she remained staggering and rather perplexed. Returned home with the two water buckets, she did not tell anything to her mother nor to others for fear not to be believed. It is only after approximately 30 years that she told about it to her son and her husband. Fiorino notes that the witness used the word UFO only once during the interview.

[Ref. pf1:] PAOLO FIORINO:
Paolo Fiorino reports what his investigation of March 20, 1988 made it possible to collect. Francesca C., who at the time of the observation was aged approximately 11 or 12 years and lived in Corbola, district of Rovigo, was going one morning to get drinking water close to river Po, one day of 1927 which could not be specified. Whereas she was on the shore, she saw coming from above a "roba" [?], "very luminous and round", which dove in the water at approximately 7 or 8 meters of her. Perplexed and partly frightened, she thought of the possibility of a plane which would have fallen, but after what seemed to her to have been three to five minutes, the "thing" came out of the water, which seemed to bubble, and left in the sky.
The witness stated to have been able to observe inside the object, without the investigator being able to determine if it were through a porthole or a window or some other way, a "small man" only visible above the neck, so that it gave the impression to be sitting. His face was covered with no "helmet" nor any other thing and his features were similar to those of the humans. In addition to the agitation in the water, full with "bubbles", Mrs Francesca C. indicated to Fiorino on his request, to have heard a noise like that produced by planes, similar to a "whistling sound", without being herself totally sure of this detail. She even remembers moreover to have been dazzled by an intense "luminosity" coming from "the object", saying that she "almost lost" her viewing capacity. This luminosity was present both when the object came and when it flew away. She said that the "thing" had a diameter of approximately 2 or 3 meters, but it was however difficult to evaluate if these are real or approximate measurements.
Not knowing how to explain to herself what she had seen, it remained staggering and rather perplexed. Returned home with the two water buckets, she did not tell anything to her mother nor to others "by fear not to be believed." It is only after approximately 30 years that she told the event in the presence of her son and her husband. Fiorino notes that the witness used the word UFO only once during the interview.

In 1927, one morning in Corbola, district of Rovigo, a 11 or 12 years old child initialed F.C. was on bank of the river Po when [he/she] observed a luminescent and round object within approximately seven or eight meters of distance. The flying machine had a diameter of two or three meters and was surrounded by a great clearness. The witness saw a "small man" inside of the object, only visible from the neck up and that looked human and seemed to be sitting. After a few minutes spent in the river while producing large bubbles in the water, the object left quickly in the sky.

A morning of 1927 in Córbola, district of Rovigo, a 12 year old girl was going to fetch drinking water at the river Po, when she saw a shiny and round object of a diameter of 2-3 meters come from the sky, emitting a hissing noise. It then dove in the water seven meters away from her. After a couple of minutes, the witness noticed big bubbles in the water and the object resurfaced, and flew away in the sky. The girl had the chance to observe a little man who seemed to be seated inside the object, because he was only visible from the neck up. Its face was human looking and he was not wearing a helmet.

Paolo Fiorino indicates that in Corbola, area of Rovigo, Italy, one morning of 1927, a young girl was taking water out of the river Po, when she saw a shiny round object come down near her. It submerged then came out again causing the water to boil. It emitted a hissing sound and had a bright light on top. The witness was able to see a small man sitting inside the object, only visible from the neck up.
The observation goes back to nearly 60 years before its first report to a ufologist, and the only witness was only about 11 to 12 years old. Although nothing ordinary fits what she saw, the details can be relatively vague or faded memories. This is a report with a very high strangeness but not enough reliability on its detail.

If the story is true in its core, the object cannot be a human craft or natural phenomenon and constitutes a case for the extraterrestrial visitors theory. However the witness was alone, aged only 11, and reported only 60 years later.
