Albert Rosales indicates that Georgiy Markovich Naumenko published a personal investigation of 1968 in one of his books on alien contacts in 2007, on a case of Summer 1915 in daytime near Panovo, Totemskiy area, Vologda region, Russia.
A young boy, Pafnutiy Senyukov, was pasturing some cows several kilometers away from the village and was sitting under a tree watching the cows peacefully graze, when suddenly, with a "loud howling sound" the cows rushed out of the field, some ran to a nearby copse and some to the river.
When Pafnutiy looked towards the sky, he saw a "strange cloud that seemed to appear from nowhere"; which then seemed to become concentrated and become denser in the middle, gradually becoming a "strange round object", like "a sphere made out of pastry" of "a very large" size.
The object descended and began to hover low just above the grass. Then something happened inside the object, something resembling "a peapod (resembling an elongated segmented door)" seemed to open up on the surface of the craft. A beam of light was then projected from this opening and then an "awful looking" "scarecrow"-like creature traveled within to the beam of light to the ground, then a second such creature appeared, slipping down on the beam of light, in the same manner as to the first one.
The terrified boy rolled himself into a ball after seeing the terrible "scarecrow-like creatures". He first thought that he was having some type of terrible vision so he jumped to his feet and yelled out some curse words and cracked his whip onto the ground - apparently in a futile attempt to scare off his 'vision'. But it had the opposite effect, the entities turned toward him and at this point the boy could see them better.
The entities seemed to have flat bodies, elongated like a slab of cardboard, thin, with long arms. Instead of normal heads they had something resembling "buckets".
Moments later something resembling "fog" or a mist began flowing from the humanoids, immediately the boy was knocked down to the ground, having the feeling of being pressed down by a powerful current of air, he couldn’t move a muscle.
Then both "scarecrows" returned to their sphere, the elongated segmented door closed and the object zoomed up into the sky disappearing in seconds, leaving only lighted specks in the air, like snowflakes that stayed for a while and then melted away.
The boy mentioned his experienced in the village but was not believed.

I am unable to find a "non-extraterrestrial" explanation for the story and just as unable to assess the credibility of the story.
