Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The author of a 1963 book on UFOs indicates that in January of 1910 in Invercargill, New Zealand, about 11:00 p.m., several witnesses, who were the mayor, the priest, and a police officer, saw an object in the shape of a cigar hovering at about thirty meters above the city. A character then appeared at a side door and was heard shouting some words "in an unknown language", then the opening was quickly closed again, the object accelerated and was lost of sight.

In his listing of UFO landings, Jacques Vallée indicates that on January 1910, at 11:00 p.m., in Invercargill, New Zealand, Several witnesses - among them the vicar, the Mayor, and a policeman - saw a cigar-shaped object hovering at 30 meters altitude. A man appeared at a lateral door and was heard shouting some words in an unknown language. The opening closed, and the object accelerated and was lost to sight. Vallée indicates that his source is "Stuart 24".

The author indicates that at the end of the sighting flap in New Zealand, there was an incongruous observation in January of 1910 in Invercargill, where about 11:00 p.m., several witnesses, who were the mayor, the priest, and a police officer, saw an object in the shape of a cigar hovering at about thirty meters above Invercargill. A character then appeared at a side door and was heard shouting some words "in an unknown language", then the opening was quickly closed again, the object accelerated and was lost of sight.

Albert Rosales indicates that in Invercargill, New Zealand, in January 1910, at 11:00 p.m., several witnesses, among them the vicar, the mayor and a police officer, saw a cigar shaped object hovering at 30 yards altitude. A man appeared at a lateral door and was heard shouting some words in an unknown language. The opening closed, and the object accelerated and was lost to sight.

Rosales indicates that the source is "Stuart, UFO Warning".

Jerome Beau indicates that in January 1910, at 11:00 p.m., in Invercargill, New Zealand, Several witnesses, among them the vicar, the Mayor, and a policeman, saw a cigar-shaped object hovering at 30 meters altitude. A man appeared at a lateral door and was heard shouting some words in an unknown language. The opening closed, and the object accelerated and was lost to sight. Jerome Beau indicates that his source is "Stuart 24".

Jean Sider says that in January 1910 at 11:00 p.m., in Invercarglll, New Zealand, several witnesses of the locality, including the pastor, the mayor and a policeman noticed a cigar-shaped object above the sector at an altitude of thirty meters. A man is seen in a side door, and shouted some words in an unknown language. The opening closed, and the object accelerated and was lost from sight.

Jean Sider says the source is "LDLN #100, June 1969, page 7, citing the J. Vallée catalogue, citing Stuart, 24; and Rosales, citing Stuart, UFO Warning, and that none of these sources says in which newspaper the incident was published.

INVERCARGILL (SOUTH ISLAND : NEW ZEALAND)

Several witnesses, including the vicar, the mayor and a policeman saw a huge cigar shaped object hovering at about 30m altitude. A door opened in the side of the object, and a figure emerged who called out in a foreign tongue. He then went back inside, the door closed and the object sped away.
