The "airship" reportedly carried three or four passengers and a "powerful headlight", It was white and "brilliantly lighted." It apparently flew in the south of the city, going to the south.

Passed Over ParagouldArkansas Town Much Flustered Over a Strange Aerial Voyager Espied in the Offing Little Rock, Ark., Jan. 16. –- A special to the Gazette from Paragould, Ark., says: A large airship, carrying three or four passengers, and a powerful headlight of some sort, passed over Paragould last evening, appearing from the north and headed south. The airship was about 1,000 feet high and carried a brilliant light. Thousands saw the air craft, which appeared to pause while passing over the southern part of the city and to circle about. The airship, to all appearances, was a dirigible balloon and under perfect control. No signals were given out from the ship. |

The Arkansas Gazette on Jan. 17, 1910 had reported the Paragould "airship" as carrying three or four passengers, and that in addition to the "powerful headlight" it was white and "brilliantly lighted." There was conjecture by the reporter that the "strange airship" seen at Paragould was the same one that passed over Chattanooga, Tenn., three successive days. |
[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates that in Paragould, Arkansas, on January 15, 1910, in the evening, a large, white airship carrying 3 and possibly 4 passengers is declared by many to have passed over Paragould early last night. It carried a powerful headlight and was brilliantly lighted. The machine, apparently a dirigible balloon from the description, was under perfect control, and seemed to be flying a distance of 1000 ft above the earth. It passed over the south part of the city, heading south.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Humcat quoting newspaper source.

The website indicates that on 15 January 1910 at "22:00" in Paragould, Arkansas, USA, there was a "Close encounter with a an unidentified craft and its occupants. One object was observed by several witnesses."
And: "A large, white airship carrying 3 and possibly 4 passengers is declared by many to have passed over Paragould early last night. It carried a powerful headlight and was brilliantly lighted. The machine, apparently a dirigible balloon from the description, was under perfect control, and seemed to be flying a distance of 1000 ft above the earth. At the time, some suspected it was the "Tillinghast machine", like other sightingsin these nights over Massachusetts. One Wallace E. Tillinghast, of Worcester, Massachussetts, had claimed to have invented a "marvelous aeroplane." But when the Worcester Board of Trade demanded that Tillinghast display his "airship" or shut up, nothing more was heard from this man.
Other reports, like those in Chattanooga, Tennessee, were explained probably correctly when people found a large Chinese lantern manufactured by kids which landed in the city where people thought they witnessed an "airship" for several days.
The strong lighting of the thing can evoke a meteor, the "powerful headlight" would be the trail. The report is so poor that there is not even a duration of the observation or indication whether the trajectory was in straight line or not.
