1909, AVOCH, ROSS AND CROMARTY, U-K., TWIN BOYS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Fairy books author Janet Bord apparently reported in 1997 that in the manor of Rosehaugh House, in Avoch, Black Isle, Scotland, U-K, in 1909, at night, nine-year-old twin boys, sons of the gamekeeper, played alone as house personal was reduced and the owners weren't there.

It is claimed they saw two little men as they climbed the main staircase. The little men were going downstairs, they walked straight past the boys, and went into the hall below.

It is claimed these men were about 18 inches tall, they wore loose tunics and small pointed hats, they had gray hair and beards.

Also, "some time later" a "strange bootlace" was found, a leather strip with no metal fasteners.

Narratives:

[Ref. sd1:] "SCOTTISH DAILY RECORD AND SUNDAY" NEWSPAPER:

The newspaper said that in the Black Isle, in 1909, 9-year-old twin boys playing in Rosehaugh House near Avoch saw two 18 inches men passing them on the staircase.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates that in Avoch, Black Isle, Scotland, in 1909 at night "A pair of nine-year old twin boys, playing alone in Rosehaugh House saw two little men as they climbed the main staircase. The little men were coming downstairs, and walked straight past the boys, disappearing into the hall below. The men were about eighteen inches tall; they wore loose tunics and small pointed hats. They had gray hair and beards. Some time later a strange bootlace was found. It was a leather strip with no metal fasteners."

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Janet Bord, Faeries, Real Encounters with The Little People".

Points to consider:

Below, an old postcard showing Rosehaugh House, a privately-owned manor in late Victorian style, demolished in 1959:

A colleague ufologist who took notes from [jb1] told me as I wrote this case file that it happened as the owners of the house were abroad, when there was a skeleton staff on duty in the mansion, the twins were the gamekeeper's sons who were allowed to play in the house, and the encounter occurred in the grand staircase.

Beyond the question of the credibility of the story, which is null, one may wonder why this had to be included in a ufology catalog.
