ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Case of Sundhoffen, on November 26, 2019:

Case number:

ALSACAT-2019-11-26-SUNDHOFFEN-1

Summary:

Under the pseudonym "ngh", someone reported a sighting to the website OVNI-France, which allegedly took place on November 26, 2019 at "06:00" in Sundhoffen in Haut-Rhin, of the "Nocturnal Lights" type, lasting 15 minutes, and titled "Hundreds of objects in the sky followed each other":

Hundreds of lights separated by regular spaces in the sky above the village, followed each other and all went in the same direction, fast, constant speed, sometimes in groups of 2 or 3, for more than 15 minutes, coming from nowhere, no noise.

Tried to take photos or videos, but too far for my camera.

I showed it to 2 other witnesses.

Never seen that.

Discussion:

Map.

"Starlink" is a satellite Internet access program by the American aerospace manufacturer "SpaceX" (Elon Musk) based on the deployment of a constellation of several thousand telecommunications satellites placed in low earth orbit.

The first launches took place in June 2019. As of March 2021, 1385 satellites were in orbit.

The small satellites, after their launch, appear as a line of small luminous dots. As it is unlike anything you would have normally seen in the sky, each launch prompted sighting reports, with witnesses wondering what it could be. Over time, the show no longer surprises many people.

Below: sample video frames of "Starlink" satellites in the sky.
