By the Web, one "Sandra" reported in September 2017 to the MUFON website that records testimonies from around the world that on July 28, 2017, at 08:02 p.m., while driving by car on the "rn 83 "- now Departmental Road 83 - in the direction from Mulhouse towards Belfort, she suddenly saw a huge silver or chromium sphere, very polished, brilliant, in the sky, exactly in front of her.
She said that the sphere had appeared suddenly, that it was enormous, and stationary. She immediately eliminated the possibility that it was a plane, a helicopter, a hot air balloon or something else.
As she was on a descending portion of the D83, the sphere was right on the horizon in front of her, she did not have to look up. It was much bigger than the moon or the sun in the sky. The sky was azure blue and absolutely cloudless.
She was on the phone at the time and told her interlocutor what she was seeing. She unlocked her "iphone" that had gone to standby, wanted to take a picture, but the camera did not take the picture, while her storage space was still important. She insisted, but this time the "photo" button had disappeared from her screen.
She then tried to quickly take a video because the sphere was "dematerializing" since her attempt to take a picture, "like a hologram, which disappeared / disintegrated from its center, and instead I saw the blue sky azure, as if the sky filled the sphere." There was nothing left but "like a rather thick hoop (the thick contours of the sphere)" and at the exact moment she started the video recording, the sphere disappeared instantly, suddenly leaving only an immense azure blue sky, like before its appearance.
Then, a few seconds later, she saw, but much farther up and far in the sky, a totally white and perfectly circular cloud, which at first was very distant, then came closer, but still far away.
She said that this could not be the moon under any circumstances because it was on the other side. She suggested she may take a picture from the place she had been, thinking that one might be able to deduce the approximate, "enormous" size of the thing. She explained that she wanted to testify on a French website from her phone, but the website did not record her story, despite several attempts.
She has the feeling that her desire to immortalize this appearance has been "detected", hence the impossibility of posting her testimony on the website in France and the total disappearance of the object exactly when she was pressing the video recording button. She agrees to be contacted for further information.

I was driving on a double lane, on the nr [National Road] 83 direction mulhouse-> belfort, when suddenly I saw a huge silver / chromieum sphere very polished (brilliant) in the sky right in front of me. it appeared like that, suddenly. I immediately eliminated the possibility that it is a plane, a helicopter, balloon or other. it was enormous and was hovering. as the rn83 is going downhill at this place, the sphere was straight on the horizon in front of me, so no need to look up, and significantly bigger than when I see the moon or the sun in the sky. I was at the same time on the phone and told about it to my interlocutor, live, the sky was blue azure absolutely no cloud. I unlocked my iphone that had on standby, wanted to take a picture, but it obstinately refused to take it while my storage capacity is still great. I can easily take a picture of where I was if you wish, maybe you will be able to deduce its approximate (enormous) size. I wanted to give a testimonial on ovnis-france but on the phone it did not validate it, despite several tests. I found on their website 1 person who had observed a sphere a few days ago, in another department. my feeling is that my desire to immortalize this apparition was "detected" from where the impossibility to do so, then the total disappearance of the observation, at the very moment when I pressed the video to film it ... I am of course reachable for any additional information.

Friday 07/28/2017, at 08:23 on the double strip road RN 83 directionColmar Belfort, just before the Masevaux exit. Straight in front of me I saw a silver luminous sphere in static positionin a big blue totally cloudless sky. By the time to unlock my phone to take a video, the sphere ball dimmed from its center (like a hologram that fades out), letting see the blue sky, but its contours were still visible. I thought logically that the coutours were going to fade too, but no, they stayed as they were (so it remained like a silver luminous circle at e. the blue sky in its middle) and suddenly all had disappeared, without going nowhere. I took the first exit at 1 km to make a U-turn, hoping to see it again, but without success. (1st appearance as clear as that that I made).

Small very simple question but it's worth it...
You drove in the Colmar ---> Belfort direction, that is to say to the south, then south, south-west, did you at some time spot the moon in front of you? It was unmissable (growing Moon), did you see it at the same time as your "silver sphere" ?

The most convincing "ordinary" explanation would be that it was a balloon. On July 28, 2017, there was a launch of several hundred balloons at Chambley in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, about 135 kilometers north of Burnhaupt. There are also regular releases of balloons at the "Parc du Petit Prince", 16 kilometers north-east of the place of observation.
The "disintegration" would then be an optical effect, with the balloon initially reflecting the sun strongly, and much less thereafter, the failures of the camera would then be coincidences.
But I have no certainty about this... And the explanation does not seem very convincing to me. The sphere is reported to have appeared "suddenly, just like that." I see that she thought about hot-air balloons and discarded this. There is also the small "round cloud" far away.
To be sure, I checked the presence of the moon, which the witness had also seen. The moon was at 231°, elevation 26°. So to her southwest with some elevation, while the UFO was "right in front" of her so probably to the south, and low on her horizon.
