ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

15/03/2015 - 8:45 p.m. - Green Glow in the East of France!

meteoroid

Sunday, March 15, 2015, around 08:45 p.m. we have several witnesses reporting they observed the high speed passage of a bright green ball with a white trail in eastern France.

One of the witnesses was in the Haute-Saône (70), the other in Alsace in the Haut-Rhin in Bartenheim-la-Chaussée (68870). There are many witnesses (see comments below).

This phenomenon is typical of an atmospheric reentry: a meteor or debris whose passage ionizes the air, offering this amazing and beautiful green color.

[Posted comments, for Alsace only:]

Same phenomenon seen at 9 pm above La Walck (Bas-Rhin)

Seen at 08:45 p.m. in Marckolsheim (67)!!! meteorite observed in the East, its direction North=>South (Lahr=>Freiburg). It reminded me the one in 1990 when the light was such that, one could see his shadow like in full daylight...
