ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Description of the facts:

When closing my shutters to go to bed I see a mass flying at a normal altitudes EXCEPT that by looking more carefully I realize the original shape of this thing and the color which it is made of... Being curious, I decide to take my binocular and I see it is triangular in shape, and really really bright you would have said the colors of a Christmas wreath (green orange red white yellow blue color) i could not really discern in detail because of the distance and brightness of the thing, shame my binocular did not allow to see the details...

A plane would make noise and would not remain static like that, I watched for abour fifteen minutes.

Discussion:

Map.

Since there is no quantitative indication such as angular size, angular speed of displacement, etc., it is difficult to understand what was seen.

The lack of noise may be due to remoteness underestimated for what would have been for example a more distant group of helicopters instead of a single plane.

And there is the possibility of Chinese lanterns. Certainly they usually appear orange colored, but lanterns of all colors are marketed:

Colored Chinese lanterns.

Above: colored Chinese lanterns.

Evaluation:

Possible group of helicopters or Chinese lanterns.
