In a listing of UFO sighting reports in the Haut-Rhin on their website, the Alsatian ufology association SPICA noted that on Friday, July 9th, 2010, at 10:30 p.m. in Haguenau, a "ball, balloon or melon (3D)" of orange color was seen; which remained unidentified for lack of information.

Discussion:

Generally, an "orange ball" in the night sky and mistaken for a UFO is a Chinese lantern. Of course, the little information I have cannot make me prove it is the explanation of this sighting.

Probably a test launch for July 14, the National Day.
