ALSACAT-2009-04-23-RITTERSHOFFEN-1
In the 2000s, a "theosophical" website told nonsense on an alleged star supposed to be "in reality" four spacecraft, that "announced the imminent public appearance of Maitreya, the World Teacher, on the occasion of his first TV interview to be held in the USA."
The website claimed that all had been "announced" in advance, and that "hundreds" of photographs prove it.
One of the "evidence" was this small image said to have been taken in France, in Rittershoffen, Alsace, by one "J-C. L." on April 23, 2009.

[Ref. pil1:] SITE "THEOSOPHIQUE" "PARTAGE INTERNATIONAL":
On December 12, 2008, the Share International Foundation announced that, soon, a bright large object, like a star, would appear in the sky. They added that this "sign" announced the imminent public appearance of Maitreya, the World Teacher, on the occasion of his first television interview to be held in the USA.
In reality, the "star" is a gigantic spaceship. There are currently four vessels of this type around the globe. Since December 2008, there are many reports about the 'star' on YouTube and television news. Share International magazine (Partage International for the French version) has received hundreds of photographs of the 'star' which has a multitude of shapes and colors.

"In the very near future, people everywhere will have the opportunity to witness an extraordinary sign of huge reaching. The unique opportunity, in the course of history, where a similar sign was shown, was the birth of Jesus. According to the Christian tradition, in heaven then appeared a star that guided the three wise men from the East to the birthplace. Soon, once again, will be seen around the world a light source of a powerful burst, like a star." (The Master Benjamin Creme, Maitreya's first interview, Share International, January-February 2009)
On December 12, 2008 Share International issued a news release announcing that in the very near future a large, bright star would appear in the sky visible throughout the world, day and night, heralding the imminent appearance of Maitreya in his first interview on one of the biggest TV channels in the United States. Since early January 2009, this star appeared in the world and hundreds of sightings have been sent to Share International. Here we publish a selection of stories that appeared in the media, witnesses and images from YouTube. Master Benjamin Creme's confirmed that it is the 'star'.

There were always been cults, sects, exploiting the credulity of some people, and some are using the theme of UFOs. This is one example.
What the image - and most other photos published on that website - is actually totally like an image of Venus image taken with zooming on a video camera. This causes all these changing colors.
See another example here.
Probable Venus.
