ALSACAT-2008-03-05-SAINTLOUIS-2
Via the website of Alsatian ufology association SPICA, a male witness reported a sighting, following another in St. Louis as well, the latter being dated March 5, 2008, at 08:55 p.m.
This witness stated that from the balcony of his home on the 6th floor with an open view of 180° from Germany to Switzerland, he saw an orange ball arriving from the top of the hill above Weil, capturing his attention and that of his girlfriend who was him.
Then he saw two other balls fairly close together, and a third ball a little further.
The first ball went up "fast at a right angle and disappeared," whereas the other three continued to the South/West at constant speed, but faster than a plane.
He said that they were bigger than a plane's headlight, well rounded, very orange, making no noise.
He followed them with with binocular, but this did not show more details. He took some pictures, "but a little fuzzy," one of those was published.
The observation lasted 3 to 4 minutes, and did not understand what it was.

I live on the 6th floor and I have a very clear view of 180° from Germany to Switzerland. I was on my balcony when I saw a 1st orange ball come from the top of the hill above Weil, that's was caught my attention and that of my girlfriend who was with me, then 2 others quite close together and again another one a bit farther, all this without any noise. The first went up very fast at a right angle and disappeared whereas the 3 others continued to the South/West at a constant speed, but faster than a plane. The size, a bigger than a plane's headlight, very round and very orange, I followed them with the binocular, bit I sis not see anything more. I also took some photographs but a bit blurry, the phenomenon lasted 3 to 4 minutes.
All this left me with a big question mark...
RNCSC note: the date, the hour and the place were indicated by deduction since this testimony follows this observation: 05/03/2008 - 20h55 - Haut-Rhin (68) - 4 orange luminous balls
The source indicated by [rnc1], ww.spica.org/faq.php does not contain this testimony anymore.
The report, the photograph, and a similar report also in Saint-Louis and probably at the same date and time, leave no doubt: these were Chinese lanterns.
Chinese lanterns.
