On August 13, 2016, a non-anonymous person contacted me by email to report some mysterious events taking place in the Niederbronn Forest.
He told me that first, about ten years ago, as he was returning from a walk in the forest at the level of the campground, he had suddenly stopped and looked up towards the treetops. He cannot explain why his gaze was drawn up even before he saw anything, that it was as if he had guessed in advance that something was going to fly over him. He remembers, however, a very seep silence a few seconds before.
He indicates that what he saw was difficult to describe: he was flown over by a kind of smoke, like a translucent blackish-colored veil, approximately 2 meters long and 2 meters wide, seeming thick of maybe only 50 centimeters, producing a noise that he can very accurately describe, because in winter he happens to use a tire to slide on the snow, and the thing produced exactly the same sound, "schiiiihhh".
The "veil" slid along the treetops following the bend the slope, from the top to the bottom of the campground.
It was not clear cut, neither on its edges nor in thickness, and he only saw it during 2 to 3 seconds, because he was in a path and the sky was visible only on 5 meters at the level of the treetops that were was about ten meters high.
The thing flew over him with at a moderate pace he estimates at 20 or 30 km / h.
He remained frozen on the spot because the thing was really inexplicable and indefinable. He is absolutely certain that it was not a hang glider, nor a flock of birds or bats.
Many years later, his parents went up the same path, walking with their dog, and saw exactly the same thing, although he had never talked about it to them before. They made the same description, had the same feeling, and the same questions about this thing.
About a year later, one of their friends who had lost a piece used to split wood on his terrain at 50 meters of the first two observation spots had gone there in the evening to try to find it.
His gaze was also drawn to the sky even before he was flown over by the same phenomenon. He felt the same things too.
For a very long time and very regularly after the first sighting, the witness told me, army helicopters flew over the area for tens of minutes and dozens of times, even hovering long minutes above of this small forest patch.
On another occasion, going up the same path, he had been frightened by a man in camouflage outfit, whom he thinks was surely a military man, who was ambushed a few meters above the path at the exact spot where the phenomenon had occurred.
It was only after the very recent event of June 2016 that his parents had observed, that he decided to tell me these events to know whether other people from here or elsewhere have seen a similar thing.
The witnesses are always without the slightest possible explanation of what they had seen.
After all these years, he had thought that this phenomenon no longer occurred, but he thinks that in this part of the forest there is something very strange happening for more than 10 years.
He details what his parents saw:
They were sitting on a bench contemplating the landscape when their dog froze his gaze without barking at the path that leads to the bench.
Amazed by his behavior, they got up and saw in the path about thirty meters from them, something comparable to the phenomenon of "veil" already seen, sliding on the ground of the path before disappearing under their eyes behind trees. It was like a gray-black smoke about 2 meters long and 2 meters wide.
It was not natural, definable, or clearly identifiable. It was like a ghostly shadow, a bit like Harry Potter's "Corpse Eaters" but without distinguishable head and no semblance of any feature, a form he can only call ghostly.
He assures that all the people he told the story are absolutely sound-minded and trustworthy.

This happened about a decade ago.
I was returning from a walk in the forest of niederbronn on the heights of the campsite, and suddenly I stopped and looked up to the treetops. I cannot explain why my look was attracted up even before I saw the event (it was like I was guessing something was going to fly over me!) I just remember a very heavy silence a few seconds before).
I will try to describe just what my eyes saw, because it is difficult to describe.
I was flown over by a kind of smoke, like a black translucent veil with a noise that I could exactly describe because in winter we use to use a tire to slide on the snow, and it was exactly the same noise (schiiiihhh).
This veil slid at treetop level following the bend of the slope, from the top to the bottom of the campsite.
It was not clear cut, neither on the edges nor in thickness, I saw it only for 2 to 3 seconds because I was in a path and the sky was cleared only on 5 meters at the level of the top of the trees; who must have been about ten meters away. The thing flew over me with a sound of slipping and at a moderate pace (I think 20-30 km / h).
I was frozen on the spot because it was really inexplicable and indefinable as a thing. As I said before a kind of translucent black veil of a size of approximately 2 meters (long / wide) and did not seem to be very thick (less than 50cm).
One thing is absolutely certain, not a delta wing !!! nor a cloud of bird or bat!
Many years later, my parents went up the same path and they saw exactly the same event !!!! I had never spoken to them before. Same description, same feeling, same question about the thing.
About a year later, one of their friend lost a metal piece used to split wood on his terrain which was less than 50 meters from the first two [places] and at nightfall, returned the next day to try to find it.
His gaze was like ours attracted to the sky even before being overflown by the same phenomenon!
With again the same feeling as us!
For a very long time and very regularly after the first sighting, helicopters of the army flew over the area for tens of minutes and dozens of times, even hovering long minutes in front of this small piece of forest!
Going another time in the path, I was even scared by a man in camouflage (probably a military) ambushed a few meters above the trail at the precise location of the phenomenon!
Only after the very recent event (June 2016) that my parents still observed in this area during a walk with their dog, I decided to talk about it on this website to see if other people from here or elsewhere have seen something similar.
Because we are still without the slightest possible explanation on the exact definition of what we have seen!
And after all these years I thought that this phenomenon had disappeared, but there is in this part of the forest a very strange thing for more than 10 years! That's what my parents saw:

A ghostly shadow, a bit like the dead magels [sic] in the Harry Potter series but without distinguishing a head or even a semblance of anything, really a shape definable as a specter!
All the people I quote are absolutely of sound minds and trustworthy.

Needless to say that I have absolutely no commonplace explanation for these alleged events!
