ALSACAT-2004-08-11-BARTENHEIM-1
The Alsatian ufology and astronomy association SPICA noted in their January 2005 newsletter an observation in Barthenheim in the Haut-Rhin on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, for which someone said:
"I saw this thing before going to bed, the lights looked like a plane but the planes have strobes below and above and lights on the sides of the wings but this craft had lights that went from left to right and the color was not like on an airplane."
"Orange, red, white. Its altitude was of about 500m to 1500 m."

BARTENHEIM (68) Wednesday, August 11, 2004

I've seen this craft before going to bed, the lights looked like a plane but the planes have above and below strobes and lights on the sides of the wings, but this craft had lights that went from left to right and the color werent like on an airplane.
Orange, red, white. Its altitude of about 500m to 1500 m.
Understandably, someone was intrigued by something, but there is not even an hour of observation; and of course neither duration nor direction nor angular sizes nor elevation, we do not know if the thing was making noise or not, etc.
So I can only note that the location is known for numerous "UFOs" that were actually airplanes from the nearby airport.
Insufficient information, possible airplane.
