ALSACAT-2004-05-00-WINTZENHEIM-1
On May 14, 2004, "Spock" told on a UFO web forum he made two observations in Alsace at the beginning of May 2004; which were short "but surprising."
Traveling to Colmar on the road above Wintzenheim perpendicular to an electric pole near a paper mill, he had seen "as a multi-faceted ball disintegrate. It was beautiful and of high intensity, but unfortunately very short ", about one second.
Then with a female friend, he went on the heights of the city to look at the landscape, and as he was talking to her, she saw a red ball that went "fast like crazy" over them at a "quite high" altitude.
He said that this ball also "dematerialized" in its flight.

Spock Posted on: Fri May 14, 2004 7:43 pm Subject of message: Two observations in Alsace Hi everybody, the observations i was able to make in the beginning of May 2004 were short but surprizing. Indeed I was going to Colmar, and on the road above Wintzenheim at the level of a power pole, near a paper factory i saw like a multicolor disco ball disintegrate. It was very beautiful and of a strong intensity, but unfortunately very short, abo.1 second. Then with a [female] friend I went to heights of that town to look at the landscape and while I was talking to her she saw a red ball that passed at a crazy speed above us, at a quite high altitude. This balle [sic] also dematerialized itself in its race. That's it it's not very detailed but for now that's all. Anyway I very soon wish to send you new observations. CU |
leo.x4 Posted on: Sun May 16, 2004 10:39 am Subject of the message: Fireballs Hi. I live not very far from alsace, and I am almost sure what you see was a FIREBALL. (An asteroid of small size that enters in our atmosphere.)This would explain the dematerialization. I saw two of them overs here last summer, it would thus not be vers surprising. Now, maybe I'm wrong because I did not see the phenomenon. CU |

As suggested on the UFO forum, this looks just like two meteors burning up in the atmosphere.
Probable meteors.
