ALSACAT-1992-02-07-MULHOUSE-1
Between 2003 and 2005, I had met a local ufologist, little present on the Internet, rather quiet and distrustful. He himself, he told me, experienced a UFO sighting and he had been quite abashed the "advertising" that he received.
We met about five of seven times and used to chat and comment on the issue of UFOs, on various cases from here and elsewhere, informally. He was extremely sympathetic, but also very suspicious of any theory that could be put forth about anything, as if since his sighting he felt all he had believed to be true or real had to be questioned, he did not trust anything supposed to be "well-established". We conducted some field investigations together, and during these investigations, I could see he nevertheless kept both feet on the ground.
Once, he told me he had been part of a UFO organization based near Mulhouse, called "D4", which had about fifty members. But following "intimidations" they disbanded. This intimidation would have followed his interest and his group's interest into a sighting he said to have been "impressive":
According to information that was given to him by a military man, whose identity or other whereabouts he did not gave me, in Mulhouse, about fifteen people including two divisional commissioners including a woman from the central police station of Mulhouse, had seen on February 7, 1992, in the sky right above the Tour de l'Europe in Mulhouse, something orange, bright or luminescent, shaped like a semicolon, which hovered there for at least fifteen minutes.
He added that the witnesses who were police officers had all been transferred elsewhere after this because they, or some of them, would have spoken of the case, to a reporter of the regional press. He gave me the name of this journalist - but I will not publish it for now.
He added that his association's office had been burned, their papers were therefore lost, and they would have had a visit, "not men-in-black", but two people they believed to be military or agents of the French intelligence, who intimidated them, and advised them to dissolve their ufology association. All members of the association took fright and no longer set foot in the association's office; which were in a Youth and Culture house ("MJC").

[Ref. pgs1:] A LOCAL UFOLOGIST TOLD ME:
Between 2003 and 2005, I had met a local ufologist, little present on the Internet, rather quiet and distrustful. He himself, he told me, experienced a UFO sighting and he had been quite abashed the "advertising" that he received.
We met about five of seven times and used to chat and comment on the issue of UFOs, on various cases from here and elsewhere, informally. He was extremely sympathetic, but also very suspicious of any theory that could be put forth about anything, as if since his sighting he felt all he had believed to be true or real had to be questioned, he did not trust anything supposed to be "well-established". Once, he told me he had been part of a UFO organization based near Mulhouse, called "D4", which had about fifty members. But following "intimidations" they disbanded. This intimidation would have followed his interest and his group's interest into a sighting he said to have been "impressive":

The information presented here on this case are not from my distant memory, I used the notes I had written just after my conversation with the reporter.
I do not know what to think about the case, neither from the standpoint of credibility, nor from the standpoint of the strangeness.
I think the best is to suspend any opinion as long as other information from other sources do not confirm the case, and as long as there are no more data about the alleged UFO.
Unidentified, insufficient information.
