ALSACAT-1985-01-18-COLMAR-1
The ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit reported in November 1990 that on January 18, 1985, around 8 p.m., a green glowing disc crossed a road "in Waldeslust", at a low altitude. There was a plasma glow surrounding the object.
In a listing of UFO sighting reports in the Haut-Rhin on their website, the Alsatian ufology association SPICA noted that it was very likely a meteor.

Strong hypothesis |
"Waldeslust", indicated as "city" by [spa1] does not exist as a city in Alsace.
There is one place named like that throughout France, it is a restaurant, 79, chemin de la Fecht, in Colmar, Haut-Rhin. The name of the restaurant is likely to be the area's name.
When the SPICA notes "Natural reentry" as an explanation, one must understand: a meteor.
On January 18, 1985, at 10:25 a.m. GMT, the 126th Proton (8K82K No. 326-02) rocket, surmounted by an upper stage block of DM class (11S86 No. 52L) was launched from Baikonur in Russia.
The payload comprised a civilian telecommunications satellite of the Gorizont class (11F662 No. 21L) put to a geostationary orbit (x 35002km 35100km x 1.5 °).
It seems to me that the explanation by a probable meteor could instead be that of a probable re-entry into the atmosphere of a debris of this rocket.
Probable space junk.
