ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. Summary:

Nadine, 39, from Alsace, reported on October 18, 2005, by email to the Swiss ufology group GREPI, that while she was between 12 and 15 years old, as it was already dark and she was going back home from school, she saw a triangular object in the sky.

She says she lived in a small village in Alsace. The thing was noiseless and moved slowly until it stopped. She had thought immediately of a plane or a helicopter, "because I did not feel any fear."

The object had three red lights at each end, and when it was stopped, one of the lights grew larger, "like a halogen light that's lit." Then the light went back to normal, and the object left quickly.

It was only when she arrived home that she realized that an airplane could not stand still in the sky. It was not until much later that she told this story, but no one took it seriously.

I must have between twelve and fifteen years (thirty-nine today - testimony received October 18, 2005 - GREPI). It was already dark and it when going back home from school that I saw a triangular object in the sky.

I live in a small village in Alsace, France. It made no noise and has approached slowly to a stop. I thought immediately it was an airplane or a helicopter, because I felt no fear.

It is only at home that I realized that a plane could not stand still in the sky. The object had three red lights at each end, and when it stopped, one of the lights enlarged (like a halogen that gets turned on). Then the light returns to normal, and the object went away quickly.

It was only much later that I told this story, but no one took me seriously.

Too bad. This is an interesting case, potentially of high strangeness, but we have only a short email and no way to learn more about it...
