ALSACAT-1977-12-00-KINGERSHEIM-1
An investigation report by ufologist Jacques Journot was published in the ufology magazine "Lumières Dans La Nuit" for December 1982.
It indicates that there was a sighting in the city of Kingersheim in the winter of 1977 or 1978 around Christmas, with two witnesses whose anonymity was preserved, Miss Monique Caron, born in 1949, residing in Kingersheim, and another woman, a seamstress living in Kingersheim at that time.
Jacques Journot heard of the case by a friend who told her that her female friend was one of the witnesses.
Miss Caron remembered the strange vision seen in winter, while the other witness could not remember neither the date nor the shape nor the colors of the phenomenon. Journot regrets she could not remember anything more despite his efforts, because of this, the information remains succinct.
Returning from work at 06:15 p.m. at night, being near their homes aboard a Renault 10 car, they saw at about 30 meters from them an unknown craft hovering at approximately 12 meters above the ground. It was egg-shaped, gray, with lights in the middle that were not dazzling, sometimes yellow like a light bulb of code 134 in the Pantone chart, sometimes red "like the backlights of a car or a flashing airplane beacon."
The craft was absolutely silent, in a deserted street. It seemed surmounted by an antenna and it had three feet, this being without certainty.
Miss Caron had stopped the car for a better look. After a few minutes, this duration being an imprecise memory, the craft left at high speed into the sky, its internal lights then being extinguished.
Miss Caron was convinced that it could not have been a helicopter or an airplane, because the craft was too low, made no noise despite she had stopped the car's engine. She was puzzled, and convinced she had seen an unknown phenomenon. She talked about it to nobody outside the family.
For the investigator, she seemed credible, and was not interested in ufology or science-fiction.
Jacques Journot made this sketch based on the memories of Miss Caron who cannot draw at all, and he noted that this does not look much like a plane or helicopter:

Witnesses:
1 / Miss CARON Monique, born in 1949, residing in Kingersheim.
2 / Ms X, a seamstress living in Kingersheim at the time of the facts.
Place of observation: City of Kingersheim (northern suburb of Mulhouse)
Date of observation: Winter 1977 or 1978 (around Christmas . (...).
It is through a comrade that I learned that his friend had witnessed a phenomenon some years ago. Witness #1 remembers this weird vision seen in winter, witness #2 could not remember neither the date nor the shapes or colors of this phenomenon. Because of so little information the facts appear brief.
The facts: On returning from work at about 6:15 p.m. (thus it was in the night) near their homes, on board a Renault 10 vehicle, driven by Miss Caron, the witnesses saw at about 30 m of them, an unknown craft hovering at approximately 12 m of height. This "object" was ovoid gray, with lights in the middle, not harming the eyes, sometimes yellow (like a light bulb - Pantone 134), sometimes red "like a car's taillight or a flashing airplane."
This craft was absolutely motionless. It seemed topped with an antenna and equipped with three feet (without certainty°. Witness 1 stopped his vehicle to better observe in this deserted street. After a few minutes (no specific recollection of this time), the UFO left at high speed in the sky, the lights inside it were then off.
Note by the investigator:
Despite extensive research, the witness 1 could remember no more details.
Nevertheless, he is convinced that this could not be a helicopter or a plane because the machine was too low, did not make noise (Miss Caron had cut off the vehicle engine. So she could not confirm primary or secondary effects).
She did not speak to anyone (except her family) of what she had seen. While being disturbed by this vision, she is convinced that she witnessed an unknown phenomenon.
This person seems in good faith, has no interest in ufology or science fiction. The sketch of this phenomenon was carried out by myself from the memories of Miss Caron, who does not know of any sketch. This, indeed corresponds very little to an airplane or a helicopter.

One winter evening in 1977 or 1978 (?), two residents of Kingersheim (68) leave their work around 6:15 p.m. (LT) It is dark and the women are in a car when they see at 30 m of them an unknown machine in levitation at 12 m height. Ovoid in shape, gray with lights in the middle, the machine has an antenna and feet. The witnesses stop their vehicle to better observe in the deserted street. The UFO's lights go out and it rises at high speed into the sky.

Former journalist Christian Valentin published in 2012 a very interesting book telling the story of UFO sightings, flying saucers sightings, in Alsace, from the beginning to 1980.
In this book, he reproduces the case of the winter 1977/1978 in Kingersheim indicating that it comes from "Lumières Dans La Nuit" #221-222 for December 1982:
Witnesses:
1 / Miss C.M., born in 1949, residing in Kingersheim.
