ALSACAT-1972-07-22-BRUNSTATT-1
The ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #135 of May 1974 published an observation in Brunstatt on July 22, 1972, at 09:15 p.m.:
In stormy weather and a light rain, there were two of us observing the sky that evening. A friend with his pocket telescope and myself with my atronomical telescope; a few cloud breakthroughs allowed some observations.
A bright spot moving from NW to SE passed over the city of Mulhouse and branched off to the S, but this time undulating. I could not follow the object with the telescope.

On Saturday July 22, 1972, at 9 p.m. local time, in cloudy weather and rain, two observers from Brunstatt (68) spotted a luminous point NW to SE passing over Mulhouse and branching off to the south undulating.

I have the impression that this is about two people "waiting for a UFO" - as one says - and who are just reporting a small nocturnal light in the sky, with no obvious strangeness; which could be a plane for example.
Mr. Drexler was actually a local correspondent of the Lumières Dans La Nuit magazine.
Possible plane, low strangeness, insufficient information.
