ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Case of Mulhouse, on November 15, 1967:

Case number:

ALSACAT-1967-11-15-MULHOUSE-1

Summary:

In the ufology bulletin Les Extraterrestres, of the ufology group GEOS, #11 of March - April 1971, there is a list of observations of the year 1967; it is noted that on November 15 of that year, at 6:30 p.m. in Mulhouse, something elongated was seen.

But in the Press of the time, an AFP dispatch gave a more terrertial report:

Mulhouse (A.F.P.). -- Many people said that they had observed yesterday around 6:30 p.m. in the Haut-Rhin sky, a luminous object in the shape of a round long shape and ending in a comet's tail.

The object that was heading east to west, it then disintegrated into three small orange balls. It is assumed that this is the disintegration of a satellite or a rocket stage.

In a list of the observations for 1967, this bulletin noted:

11/15 06:30 p.m. Mulhouse France Elongated

Discussion:

Map.

It could have been a meteor just as well as a rocket or satellite disintegration.

Evaluation:

Insufficient information, possible meteor.
