ACUFO-1944-09-00-GERMANY-2
True magazine in the USA, in the 1950s and 1960s, published several articles about the sighting reports of unidentified flying objects. Its editor, Ken Purdie, had received a telegram on the matter, from Richard B. Anderson, of Wichita, Kansas.
Mr. Anderson suggested that Ken Purdie should look into US Military Intelligence reports regarding the 56th Fighter Group dated around September 1944, to find reports of “glass bubbles” or silver discs seen above Germany.
As the magazine had contact with Donald Keyhoe, head of the National Investigation Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) at the time, who had written several articles about UFOs for the magazine, Ken Purdie gave him this telegram, which was then found in the NICAP archives.

The 56th Fighter Group of the 8th US Army Air Forces was equipped throughout the war with the Republic P-47 “Thunderbolt”, a powerful single-seat, single-engine fighter used to defend the day bombers of the US Army Air Forces during their raids on the Germany.
Former US Marines officer Donald Keyhoe was leading the large ufology group National Investigation Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) in the 1950-'s and 1960's, and as he had published several articles about UFO reports in True magazine, people would contact the magazine to recount their own experiences.
