ACUFO-1944-00-00-INDIA-1
In 1957, New Zealander Trevor James Constable (1925 - 2016) published his book entitled “They Live in the Sky”, and two other books later; in which he claimed that flying saucers are an unknown species of Earth animals living in the sky. He claimed the use of radar angered these organisms, who would become predatory, abducting humans on the ground and pilots in their planes, or destroying the planes.
He would list aircraft crashes as evidence that the giant amoeba from the sky attack our aircraft.
He claimed that these giant amoebas were “gaseous”, hence “invisible”, and that this form of life emerged on earth “long ago” when our planet was “still gaseous”.
He told he had learned about this by his own telepathic contact with an invisible being called “Ashtar”, from the “Ashtar Command” and told how, at the suggestion of this invisible intelligence, he began experimenting with infrared film to photograph the giant sky amoeba, in conjunction with “elementary principles of spiritual science”.
In 1984, Dr. Louis Winkler, an astronomer at Pennsylvania State University, compiled a catalogue for the Fund for UFO Research (FUFOR), USA, in which one part was about UFO encounters by pilot.
He indicated that he found in the sources “Constable” and “FSM No 18” a case in 1944 in India in which an airplane's propellers were immobilized with a ray from a glowing disc.

[Ref. lwr1:] DR. LOUIS WINKLER:
1944/India/FSM (n. 18), Constable
An airplane's propellers were immobilized with a ray from a glowing disc.
None, except that it had propellers.
In 1957, New Zealander Trevor James Constable (1925 - 2016) published his book tilted “They Live in the Sky”, and two other books later; in which he claimed that flying saucers are an unknown species of earth animals living in the sky.
“Ashtar” would say things like:
“Let me give you this earnest injunction. Cast out all fear, for fear is the lubricant, the food and the vehicle of the Dark Forces. Without fear you are truly impregnable, so strive for this attainment.”
“If you yourself rend the veil between yourself and the invisible worlds, then you may find waiting on the other side, forces alien to all your ideals and higher concepts. These forces will be unwilling to release you from their toils once you are in them. I therefore enjoin greatest care and caution in attempting telepathic contact with us. If you will read the earlier communications of this channel you will realize as nothing else will make you realize the type of creatures with whom you may be making contact. Some of them are highly evolved and are able to masquerade as spacemen quite effectively. Others have nothing valid to impart and use your contact with them for joking amusement or as a means of obtaining control of a physical vehicle.”
Of course, it appears that he was the source of the alleged incident in India that Dr. Winkler noted in his catalogue without any of the above context information.
Winkler also cited as source “FSM (n. 18)”; which I was unable to identify (Flying Saucers Magazine? No such title in 1957. Fortean Society Magazine was called Doubt after No. 11).
Invention.
