The regional newspaper L'Est Républicain for October 25, 1954, on page 4, reported that a "sympathetic college boy from Neufchateau, le grand Maurice" (Tall Maurice), who was busy writing homework around 10 p.m., looked out of the window and was surprised to see, moving in the sky, a craft that he said was comparable to a 5 CV Citroën car.
The newspaper noted "in passing" that Maurice was until then rather skeptical about the existence of flying saucers.
The newspaper noted that the "5 CV" is already obsolete among the Earthmen, and wonders whether Maurice's sighting was caused by the movie "le choc des mondes" or a wake too long for a lesson in cosmography, adding that "this apparition does not seem to be the result of his imagination."
[Ref. ler1:] NEWSPAPER "L'EST REPUBLICAIN":
Until now, the flying craft, whether they came from Mars or elsewhere, took the shape of saucers, cigars, or even barrels with nails!
It is said that now one can see craft looking exactly like vehicles that are almost already obsolete on Earth. This is a thesis supported by a sympathetic high school boy of Neufchateau, Big Maurice. The latter was busy writing some homework, at approximately 10 in the evening, when, looking by the window, he was surprised (let's note that until then Maurice was rather skeptical about the reality of the saucers) to see, moving in the sky, a craft that one can compare, he said, to... a 5 CV Citroën!
Is it because of the movie "the war of the worlds" or the result or having been standing up too late for a cosmography lesson, nevertheless this appearance does not seem to be the result of his imagination.
The information is insufficient; maybe it was a indeed a 5 CV Citröen?
