In his ufology book of 1998, Jacques Costagliola indicated that according to the bulletin of the Astronomical Society of France on page 75, under the title "suspicious objects", it was said that Mr. L. Cassieux, of Evreux, remembered having seen "about ten years ago (around 1954)" in July, around 10 p.m., a brilliant discoid object in the sky of Evreux, an axisless top, twice as wide as the moon, of a height equal to one third of the width, bright red underside, yellow at the top. The object descended vertically and came to a standstill, ascended obliquely and instantly disappeared in a fast, silent motion.

The author indicates that Mr. L. Cassieux of Evreux, remembers he saw "about ten years ago (about 1954) "in July around 22 hours" a discoidal shining object in the sky of Evreux, a spinning top without axis, twice broader than the moon, height equal to the third of the width, the lower part sharp red, the top yellow. The object descended vertically and was immobilized, went up obliquely and disappeared instantaneously in a fast and silent movement.

The source is indicated as "BSAF 1969, p.75, objets suspects".
