The ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #263-264, of May / June 1986, reported an observation of February 1954, in Grossoeuvre in the Eure:
At 06:40 in the country, Mr. J.-F. Vannier, state mail service agent, while driving to work, observed for two minutes a phenomenon towards the West that moved horizontally at 200 meters from him.
It was three luminous points, or three small red lamps aligned horizontally, surmounted by a yellow-white luminous globe; which illuminated the base of the clouds, and of an apparent size of 3° and at an angular height of 5°.
The sky was overcast, there was no noise. He had noticed it on his left, it was motionless for a few seconds, then the globe went away horizontally and accelerated and went out.
The magazine indicated that the investigator was Mr. G. Josse.

I have no obvious explanation for this case, but it remains of low strangeness, could be airplane or vehicle lights for example. The report is not very clear. The lack of a date does not allow any specific astronomical verification of the case.
