According to the 2014 book listing the "close encounters of the third kind" in France by Julien Gonzalez, there was in the ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #400 of October 2010 a report of an investigation by Gilles Morel, from which it appears that in Décines, in the Rhône department, at the end of the summer of 1954, around 8:30 p.m., Mrs. Graziella Maximino, 25, was walking back from her home from her sister's, where she had picked up her three children: Yolande, 4, Marco, 2 and Nano, 3 months old.
She saw "a man of normal height coming in front of her. He was walking with outstretched arms, slowly, heavily." He was wearing a very white jumpsuit, like aluminum foil. He looked like a diver, with a helmet and a pipe on either side of his head."
She said to him: "Hey! It's not Carnival". A strange ballet began between the young woman clutching her three children like a bodyguard in close protection, and the strange being. She advanced, the character did it too, she retreated, he did the same. The lady said:
"Maybe he wanted to see me, to talk to me, I don't know. I couldn't see his face, nor his eyes behind the mask."
Said mask did not show any detail, it was aluminum white, like the suit, rather round than pointed, like a full face helmet, blind. The lack of eyes was agonizing. The merry-go-round repeated itself twice, three times, until they were within 20 or 25 meters of each other.
She asked "What do you want from me?" and finally, she ran back to her sister's house.
She hadn't seen any "craft", neither on the ground nor in the sky.
It was during a family discussion, after a TV show, 30 years later, that she told her children about this adventure; Gilles Morel collected this testimony in August 2010, therefore 46 years after the events.
[Ref. jgz1:] JULIEN GONZALEZ:
The author indicates that there was a close encounter of the third kind in Décines, the Rhône, in late summer 1954, around 08:30 p.m.
Mrs. Graziella Maximino, aged 25, was returning that night by foot from her sister's home, where she had picked up her three children: Yolande, 4, Marco, 2 and Nano, 3 months.
She saw a man of normal height come in front of her, walking slowly, heavily, with her arms outstretched. He wore a very white suit, like aluminum foil. He looked like a diver, with a helmet and a pipe on each side of the head.
She said, "Hey, it's not Carnival." A strange ballet started between the young woman clutching her three children like a bodyguard in close protection, and the strange being. She advances, he advances. She retreats, he does the same. "Maybe he wanted to see me, talk to me, I do not know, I could not see his face or his eyes behind the mask."
The mask showed no details, it was white aluminum, as the suit, rather round than pointed, like a full helmet, blind. The lack of gaze was distressing. The carousel was repeated twice, three times, until they were 20 or 25 meters apart.
She asked "What do you want from me?" And finally she runs back to her sister's house.
Julien Gonzalez points out:
1) The witness testified that she did not see any object on the ground or in the sky.
2) It was during a family discussion, after a TV show, 30 years later, that she told this story to her children.
3) Gilles Morel recorded this testimony in August 2010, 46 years after the fact.
The source is indicated as "Lumières dans la Nuit, n#400, pages 35 and 36 (investigation by Gilles Morel)."
I do not see an explanation by a misinterpretation that would be convincing; but the testimony is really late.
I also wonder whether Gilles Morel heard the story from the witness, or from one or more of her children. It is a pity that this is not clear to me.
