In April 1998, the ufology bulletin UFO Log illustrated an article about the 1954 French wave by copying the title of a newspaper article noted as being La Manche Libre for October 31, 1954.
This title reported that several places in the Manche department had been overflown by the "flying saucers"; one of the cities mentioned was Périers.
[Ref. ufl1:] UFOLOGY BULLETIN "UFO LOG":
Cherbourg, Valognes, Saint-Pierre-Eglise, Brix, Equeurdreville, Périers, Carentan, etc...
were overflown
La Manche Libre for 10/31/1954.
The information is obviously insufficient as it stands; but I must say that when there is such an accumulation of "flying saucers" probably concomitant and on an area such as a department, or several, the end of the story is that it was in no way "flying saucers", but a meteor.
The places mentioned in [ufl1]. From Cherbourg to Périers, there are 53 km in straight line.
(These keywords are only to help queries and are not implying anything.)
Périers, Manche, saucer, craft
