In a section giving news from Saint-Germain-l'Herm, on page 8, the Parisian newspaper intended for Auvergne readers L'Auvergnat de Paris for October 9, 1954, reported that some people of this borough reportedly saw the last days "flying saucers". One of them reportedly contemplated a metallic object, motionless in the sky for at least twenty minutes and had enough time to warn his/her family.
