Summary:

In the regional newspaper Le Courrier de Saône-et-Loire for November 10, 1954, it was reported that Mr. Georges Rocaboy, from Plessala, was returning home around midnight, accompanied by a neighbor, Mr. Gaudin.

The two motorists had suddenly seen a sort of luminous tube about 50 meters away, they said.

Four hundred meters higher, there was another tube, much larger, whose flight seemed to control that of the first one.

The two stacked craft slowly descended, emitting lights of various colors. The motorists quickly had the impression that these "flying cigars" were rushing toward their car, and, panicked, they fled across the fields and alerted a neighbor, Mr. Perrin, who was able to witness the phenomenon, which "disappeared quickly."

Explanations:

Map.

The sighting is of very high strangeness, with no obvious ordinary explanation to me; unfortunately, it is poorly documented since, for example, the exact date is not known.

I might perhaps later find a more detailed local source.
