Aimé Michel said in an article in Fate magazine on August 1957 that there was a sighting in Mâcon, only reported in the local Press.
Michel gave no details, no source, no date, but the sighting was among other he listed for August 1954, befire the "wave" really started.

But during the days that followed [July 24, 1954] similar observations [as the sighting in Talence] were made at [... other cases...] Macon, [... other cases...] and other places. The remarkable thing was that only the local papers made mention of these sightings. As a consequence the witnesses had no way of knowing that other persons in other places were having the same experiences.
